It saids : Free VZW Msg: Congratulations! Call 888..etc Now: you're eligible for a new phone! Call 888..etc! 2yr agm't req'd.

I typed it exactly as follows besides the numbers. Been elig for a while (June 15th) and again never got any type of text like this! THat 888 number is not listed as a sales or customer support number the VZW website !!

This is probably from an authorized retailer (not corp) who is working through a list of users eligible for upgrade.

Congrats! I really miss 1920x1200 laptop screens. Only Apple seems to have them now on their 17". If anyone out there knows current gen systems that still have 1920x1200, let me know!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_display_resolutions#WUXGA_.281920.C3.971200.29

The dell E-series still has a WUXGA option, the 15.4 screen laptops do that, the move from 16:10 laptops to 16:9 (the same hd used on tvs) meant that most laptops moved to 15.6 instead of 15.4 and the 1080 HD screens

OT:
Sadly, it's getting damned hard to find 1920x1200 even in full-blown monitors, let alone laptop panels. I'm holding onto my BenQ FP241W monitor for dear life since it has that resolution and is an MVA technology. (The reason 24"+ monitors got so cheap suddenly is everyone's been using low-quality TN screens with horrible viewing angles, but I digress...) Barring being able to find a current-gen laptop with 1920x1200, your next best bet might be trying to see if any of the panel manufacturers still make screens at that resolution which you could buy separately. You could get it installed to replace a stock 1080p one.

*611, pressed 0 immediately. Reason for call: Upgrade.

I said I'm calling about the midwest region (key!!) promotional discount on a 3G to 4G upgrade of $100. I was wondering if this can be applied to my account. She put me on mute for a minute as she looked up the promotion. She then found it and notated my account that I was approved for it (only can be applied at purchase). I inquired how the store rep would see the discount and she said the store sales person would have to check the notes on the account since they have access to the same system/notes she was composing.

I did the above yesterday, and redid it again today to verify it was noted. Worked first time both calls.

P.S. It apparently expires on 12/31.

Thank you so much!! Mentioning the midwest region really was the key! I tried calling a couple times the last few days without any success but after mentioning the midwest region, the csr found the promo right away. He got a little snippy at the end of our conversation because I didn't upgrade to a new phone right then and there. I didn't mind though, it's a small price to pay for $100 off! Thanks again!

Nothing new to add here but thought I would mention my corporate store near me is telling me that they still have no idea when it will be released. I would have thought that if it was this Thursday and they knew it, that they would have tried to hint something to me to get me to come back in.

I did get to mess around with the demo Nexus and I agree with what others have said, it is quite fast and is the perfect size. The rep also said that the extended battery barely adds any thickness. I'm more excited than ever.

Just wanted to let anyone that is considering a case for their Nexus know that TPU cases has added a 'high gloss black' and 'high gloss smoke' style cases to their order page. I contacted the company and while they dont yet have pictures up of those cases they will be similar to the Samsung SII in color/finish so you can look at those for reference.

I was also told in the email that they have the other colors listed as well if anyone is interested in them. I would imagine you would have to email them about ordering the other colors since they are not yet on the order page.

Colors/Styles:
Matte Back Black
Matte Back Smoke
High Gloss Black
High Gloss Smoke
Smoke GlitterFlex
Pink GlitterFlex

Nice idea, will consider that when my current laptops die. I have 2 1920x1200s still alive -- an HP (elitebook) and a Dell (precision). Got them both on closeout/refurb-type deals. Both work fine now but I know they won't last forever.

For desktop, I have a dell 1920x1200 right now and will be keeping an eye on the stock/availability of those resolutions going forward...
