***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

If anyone in NJ (or anywhere) wants a good laugh, call the best buy in woodbridge, NJ. I got an incredibly rude rep on the phone and the whole conversation just made me laugh afterwards.

Convo went like this:

Me: Hi I wanted to ask if you had the galaxy nexus?
Rep: The what?
Me: I wanted to know if you know when you will be selling the galaxy nexus for verizon.
Rep: First of all, I can't understand you. Second of all, NOBODY knows when the phone will be available. There was only one sold and it was sold by accident somewhere in Kansas, so you can't get one now.
Me: I never asked you to sell me one today, I just asked if you know when you'll have it.
Rep: I don't know
Me: thanks, bye

I wasn't rude or demanding at any point, I'm just guessing either other people have been asking her all day or just being really demanding regarding a release date. I thought the whole thing was funny because I work with customers everyday and would never act like that no matter how many times I was asked the same question, but I guess some people are just gangsta.

Lol if anyone else calls there let me know how it goes.

Calling, for teh lulz

after reading from one member last night that a csr he spoke to on the phone told him TN was eligible for the $100 rebate on a 4g phone, i sent vzw an email trying to see if i could get the coupon added to my account in the notes or otherwise. i received an email back not only stating that i was not eligible for any coupons, but that my number all together was not eligible for an upgrade although on vzw's site it clearly says i have been eligible since september. at this point i called *611 just to make sure that i wasnt going to have any trouble getting an upgrade and i wasnt misunderstanding my eligibility from their site, and the very nice girl i was speaking with(angelica) told me that the email was not true and in fact 3 of my lines were eligible for an upgrade, with a 4th line having the early upgrade for a fee option(we have 5 lines). after i got that squared away, i then asked about getting the discount i had originally emailed about. after about 15 minutes of "let me look at this and let me ask someone else", she finally came back on the phone and said that i was indeed eligible for the extra $100 coupon, and that it was now noted on my account and i would have no trouble redeeming it when i purchase a new phone :D BIG SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE SPREADING THE REBATE! i hope others can cash in on the deal, its at least worth a shot because my state(TN) is not considered a midwest state but they added the coupon anyway. good luck

Just wanted to let anyone that is considering a case for their Nexus know that TPU cases has added a 'high gloss black' and 'high gloss smoke' style cases to their order page. I contacted the company and while they dont yet have pictures up of those cases they will be similar to the Samsung SII in color/finish so you can look at those for reference.

I was also told in the email that they have the other colors listed as well if anyone is interested in them. I would imagine you would have to email them about ordering the other colors since they are not yet on the order page.

Colors/Styles:
Matte Back Black
Matte Back Smoke
High Gloss Black
High Gloss Smoke
Smoke GlitterFlex
Pink GlitterFlex

Samsung Galaxy Nexus : TPU-CASES.COM, - All TPU Cases Shipped Free in the USA

I got the High Gloss Black off Amazon last week. Nice quality, I have owned a few of there cases for other phones.

Today I called a store... they wouldn't even play ball when I brought up the Nexus. No, "it's coming soon" or "call back on ______"... but then I called *611, and got a pretty cool guy on the phone. I was panicking due to a rumor that the phone being on the iconic list would prevent me from upgrading to it, and I started out by saying "I know you can't talk about the Nexus, won't even acknowledge that it exists... but I just need to know about" blah blah blah. It seemed to throw him off his "scripted response" and he started talking to me like I was his friend. He told me that he's just as much in the dark as we are and that he hasn't had an hour go by without 12 people calling in asking about the Nexus. He said that all they were told was that the 9th is no longer the date, and not to sell the phone until the 15th no matter what.
It really surprises me how many people really want the Nexus and nothing else. A lot of people were talking about sending countless emails to higher ups at VZW and things as ridiculous as petitions to release the Nexus back in November. I always said there weren't enough people to make Verizon hurry up and get the phone out, but I'm surprised how many people are interested in the Nexus, even with barely any information officially released. If that rep is telling the truth then I have no doubt Verizon knows this will be a hot phone and will sell like crazy.

Hey all.

Been lurking for the past couple days as tensions rose.

I see I did not miss much, though the 15th seams to be picking up some steam. After all these ups and downs, sadly, I am still pessimistic about the whole situtation. I guess I will "Believe it when I see it" :) I will be more comfortable seeing an actual press release or something not word of mouth. Not to discredit any sources or anything, just after the 9th and all the other ups and downs, well, I am sure many can understand

On another note, the rezound and razr has crossed my mind once again and I have decided neither device is for me. :)

I realy hope the Galaxy Nexus is worth waiting for. Other wise this roller coaster ride will have been in vain, not only for me but a mess of other people out there.

A better camera then my DX would be welcome. I have HDR+ so that should help. Video, would be okay, but I don't use that much. I like to watch the weather post "live updates" when the weather gets crazy around here.

NFC / Google wallet / ISIS don't really matter to me. I just want a phone that I can tinker with and not grow tired off a few months after I get it.

Grrrr, I just can't get Verizon to give me this discount! Called several times today, and each time I've been told that my account has to be "targeted" for the mailer and the 3G-4G discount, and that they can't just be added. Frustrating.

same here man :[ I dont know how the dude from Phoenix did it...

I tried calling VZW to apply the $100 discount, but they said I had to order from a local (Chicagoland) store. I'm planning to upgrade in MA, but my billing address is in the Chicago area...

Never did he ask for a promo code. Am I missing something here? He said he couldn't apply it to my account...but I was eligible because my residency is in IL

I was informed by my rep who notated my account:

It is NOT a promotional code that can be applied to accounts, it is a POINT OF SALE promotion, as in it can only be applied at the time you are purchasing the phone.

Not sure if that's true or not but the girl who put the note on my account stated as such.

Damn. Doubting I can use that CH4GE code depending how picky VZW is going to be about it since it said it's for people who haven't upgraded within the last 6 months. Since my Bionic was a refund within the 14-day period, I'd prolly have to fully refund the Rezound, switch to my Droid 2, and hope it'd apply. Were it to work with my restored New Every Two it'd be worth it. Rezound came out to $249 for me as it is. Called my local BJs and the rep said that all they had were the dummy Nexus units out, which doesn't exactly show me the awesomeness of the screen quality. Oh, the humanity!
