***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

One obvious thing to keep in mind about places like radio shack and best buy is they offer phones on many different carriers. Unlike non-corporate Verizon stores. So, while they don't want to lose the business of Verizon customers, I could see their high level execs telling Verizon to stick their phones where the sun doesn't shine, if they feel like they are being bullied. They aren't going to go out of business if they stop selling Verizon phones.

For those having issues with the CH4GE code, try this one. I received a promotion in the mail today that has different wording, here it is:

"Save Up To $100 On Any Phone" In the fine print it says: Total discount may not exceed price of phone. 2 yr. renewal required. Available if customer has not upgraded in the the last 180 days"

Promotional Code: STDNE2

I live in Wisconsin, good luck!

bad news guys, csr said i wasn't eligable for the promotion cuz my phone wasn't technically a 3g SMARTPHONE.

and more important news.

when i asked him about the possible release for the 15th, he said that they would have gotten email notification by now and he had no info making the release on the 15th highly unlikely. kinda a bummer, but im not surprissed.

I'm guessing you have a NE2 discount of $100. This is different than the other mailer I believe.

Ive said it tons of times before. Dont expect any tangible leaks. Verizon was made to look like a fool last week. They will not email anything, or send anything other then word of mouth until HOURS before release. Not days.

Otterbox Lovers, Here is Your Galaxy Nexus Defender Series Case

The case I ordered this week (should be coming soon). Looks like its a clip-in holster not a slide-in. I like it. :)

I hope they put a way to call out phones by name. Like press a button and say "Nexi (my Gnex's name) please show me movie times at (local theater)"....

That would be SAAAWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Voice Actions by Pannous does this. And you can specify your name as well. I think they changed the name of the app in the market. It might go by Jeannie now. Its a pretty darn good app. My droid stumbles while running it, so I had to quit testing it for them for the time being. Very good group of devs working on it though. They respond and respect user feedback like very few devs out there. High praise from me.

5th try on the 3G to 4G promo and it worked! I didn't mention the code this time because I kept getting told that only applied to Chicago (maybe that is a Chicago-specific code?). The CSR said "Yeah, Denver is in the Midwest so you're good." He was also waiting for the Nexus and told me he would make a note on my account to honor the promo if the phone releases before it expires.

Thanks to everyone for the tips! To those who haven't been successful, keep trying!
ugh! I'm in denver too! I thought I had the first CSR successfully add it to my account, but when I called back to check they said there wasn't anything noted and that there was only a region specific offer.

For those unsuccessful with the CH4GE code, keep in mind also that in the discount thread, our own efdisaster posted a mailer that he received that had a slightly different code: CH4GNE2. This has the same final three characters as Cptmorgan's code, perhaps that's a necessary part. See if CH4GNE2 works instead.

Can someone tell me what I missed and why Thursday is the day all of a sudden?

Thursday and Friday has been the day since Thursday or Friday was not the day last week.

You havent missed much, except steven's source indicating a release this week looked promising, and a lot more employees hinting that the 15th was the date or telling customers to come back then.
