I dont use iTunes ... but I think you might be referring to the instruction to create a file in the root directory of the SDCard ... It is nothing more that a text file... With the word "android" in the file ... then Saved and the file name is "Android.txt"

This is a quote from one of the posts "The "Recognize by folder type" field is important. It's basically how the program distinguishes your G1 from any other device you connect to your computer - I added a Notepad file called ANDROID to the root of the MicroSD card, seems like it can be anything that simple."

Below is the OP's instructions msg #1 in the thread..

Sync G1 with iTunes in Windows
If you download and set up the program iTunes Agent

iTunes Agent

you'll be able to set sync your G1 with an iTunes playlist (you're actually syncing the MicroSD card with iTunes, but it works the same).

After you install the program, connect the G1 and follow the instructions here: http://ita.sourceforge.net/docs.html...d_a_new_device

The "Recognize by folder type" field is important. It's basically how the program distinguishes your G1 from any other device you connect to your computer - I added a Notepad file called ANDROID to the root of the MicroSD card, seems like it can be anything that simple.

In the "Music Folder" field, I pointed it to the Music folder at the root of the MicroSD card on the G1.

In the "Associate with playlist" I left it as "use device name." Now, when you go to iTunes, under "My Devices" there should be a playlist icon that says "G1". Add whatever files you want (make sure there isn't any DRM) and then right click on the iTunesAgent icon in your system tray and click "Synchronize devices."

Enjoy!

Well i got it to work but as Expected it will only sync Music you have imported into Itunes if you purchased it from Itunes still no go. Witch doesnt suprise me i kinda figured it would be that way
Hey, since January, you can upgrade your itune purchased songs to be DRM-free, and then they can be copied over to the G1 like a breeze... Check the right column in the Itune store, quick link, and use the link update my library

Great post thanks!!

Note - you can upgrade any DRM music (for a fee) from the iTunes app. It cost me $60, but now my music is fully portable and thanks to HTC Magic I am buying music from many sources rather than just from iTunes.

ps - Plantronics do some fantastic stereo bluetooth headsets, so do drop the HTC Magic "horrid headset" if you still use that...

...SNIP...

Enjoy!

Hello All. I was able to sync one of my playlist successfully, but I have several playlists in iTunes. Is there a way to sync multiple playlists? I tried creating multiple Devices and named it like my playlist name, but iTunes can only see and sync the first Device I created... it ignores the rest of the Devices I created. Any ideas on this?

There is another project that I started called mediaSync which syncs android phones with iTunes. It is free to download, and while it lacks some of the shiny stuff of things like DoubleTwist it does work, its simple to use and fast to sync.

More information for it can be found here: mediaSync

I just didnt have good luck with DT or Google Music, or Amazon cloud stuff... so I ended up going in a different direction and wanted to share the project with some more folks.

Best wishes to you all.

At risk of repeating myself... Sailing Media Sync :)

I bought that and used it with my wife's Palm Pre Plus when she was still using that phone. A great tool all around and I don't know why no one is listening - LOL.

The free version works - but loads the entire library sync each time rather than only updating what you have changed. We have the paid version.
