My wife has a desire HD and earlier in the year I did the root so she could have a different rom on. Everything went fine, and then last month we tried MIUI. She loves the phone and the ability to change roms, but here's the problem.....the volume down button has stopped working
First I thought it could just be dirt, but after carefully removing the silver rocker switch and cleaning it, it's definately a faulty button on the circuit board. It's under warranty, but obviously we will need to return it to factory stock condition.
To make matters worse, we don't have any backups
I have tried the RUU files but they don't work. Even if I download a stock rom and try the clockworkrecovery it keeps saying BAD IMAGE
Without being able to get into the recovery (holding the volume down button) do we basically have an expenive door stop now
