anyone else getting sick of all the clapping?

I've been shooting with my girlfriends dad and i got hooked so since then i've shot a plethera of handguns multiple .22s .45s and 9s, haven't shot any other hand guns but have also had my eye out on posibly getting an assault rifle, really liking the AR15 or M4 style rifles with pistol grips, have shot a few as well and they are damn nice. Any ideas?

I can't imagine starting anywhere other than 1911.

Many people getting calls and txts from their locals stores (Best Buy, Costco, Radioshack, VZW stores, etc.) confirming the 15th as release day. Also, a document from Costco giving the 15th as well. The 15th is essentially all over the place at this point. However, there are still many VZW stores claiming it's not coming this week and that they would have heard by now if it was. One CSR even offering to buy a customer the phone for him if it does show up this week. All in all, Verizon has said nothing official, so all this means nothing.

I'm not sure what the laws are in your area, but Florida has very gun friendly laws. If this is a concealed weapons permit you are looking into I would highly suggest the Walther PPS 40Cal. This is a well made handgun with a one inch profile. If you are looking for something to take deer/pig/bear/etc... hunting as a side arm I would stick with a 45 or better. Target shooting, stick with a .22 or .25 as you will burn through a lot of ammo and it isn't cheap. It will all depend on your local laws, what you want to do with your sidearm and what you want to spend.

I've personally got no need for an assault rifle.. .give me a 30.06 and a scope and I'm a happy hunter. A friend of mine loves (collects) Sig Sauer rifles.

I just talked to the manager of the store that had the rude CSR. No discussion of the rude CSR, pure Nexus talk. She said she had no idea when or if they were launching the phone. She said they had stock after I let her know that I had saw and held one at Radio Shack and that I would be buying from RS because of the lack of help ALL, not just her store, but ALL of the Verizon stores have been. I also informed her that Verizon had not only lost potential revenue at their stores but also subscribers over this fiasco. She didn't seem to care.

and it's now a race....what happens first, they actually nail down the Higgs Boson or the Nexus is released. Exciting times on both fronts.

I can't condone this. For relatively seasoned shooters, sure. But he's just starting out...My opinion, stick with Sig (as noted above) if you can afford it, or HK or Glock. Easy to shoot, reliable as hell.

Having said the above, I own several 1911s that I dearly love.

She doesn't care. She doesn't get a bonus if Verizon gains a few million more subscribers. It's just a job.

You know how many times a week they hear that? They don't care. 90% its BS anyway and the rest of the time it isn't impacting their paychecks so no worries to them.
