Help Cannot connect to GPRS

Hi,.
I bought new Micromax A70.
I called the Airtel peeople and got it activated.
They asked me to put airtelgprs.com in APN and restart.
I have done that, but still cannot connect. I am not even getting the icon on top of the screen. :mad:

.
Any body tried to cnnect to GPRS. Please guide me.

1.First check u Have activated GPRS from Airtel zero rental Plan.

2.If Activated Ready..Go to settings ->wireless networks->MobileNetworks->TICK DATA CONECTIVITY

3.settings ->wireless networks->MobileNetworks->GSM/UMTS options->ACESS POINT NAMES->(if u donthave acces point create) NEW APN

conection name : MOBILEOFFICE
APN :airtelgprs.com
Authentication Type : None

Save Settings->and select that conection SEE THE ROUNDBUTTON -> REBOOT THE PHONE ...UR DONE FOR USING GPRS.I THINK THIS IS USEFUL FOR U...CHEERS....

If the E or H icon doesn't appear in the status bar. then possibly gprs is not yet activated. Take the SIM out and Reinsert it in the phone, see if the E icon appears and also try to Insert the SIM in another phone and try to use internet on the other phone.

If both of the above don't work post here, i have another solution

I have removed the sim card and placed it again in the A70.
But still couldn't. Also I called Airtel people and they told me that its already activared. I still couldn't see the icon of H or E.
I didn't insert the card in other phone as I dont have any other smart phone. So please let me know other solution.

I am using LOOP network on my A70 and it works perfectly fine - when it works.

However, when I am not using the net the GPRS icon disappears from the screen after it is inactive for sometime. Now if I try the browser it says no data connection ... This happens even when Data Connectivity option is still ticked. --- After switching the data Connectivity Off or ON for 3 to 4 times it shows the GPRS icon again... but mostly I have to disable the network and then re-enable it and then the icon comes up for me to use the net.

Any idea why this should happen.... ?

Works perfectly fine for me on Airtel, I didn't even need settings

Everything was there...

You can check that data service are active in settings,Mobile Guard Widget and the power control widget

hey i am sure u have not ticked the gprs on the mobile guard. When u tick this option it will say switching on gprs. Reply me if it works otherwise i will provide another solution.

hi i have also bought micromax a70 2week before. i have same problem. i cant access my gprs and i cant see the h or e simbol in up.. i have setting for gprs. and also i have ticked gprs at mobile guard.i have remove my sim and fix at another phone. gprs is working good at another phone. then i fixed at my phone.. the same problem is coming.. so please tell me the solution.

There are three switches:
1.) Mobiles Guard widget
2.) Power Control widget
3.) in the settings menu -> wireless and networks

as per this post by Rajapandian you should be able to access GPRS.
Only thing IMP is that the GPRS should be activated..
I am using the AIRTEL om my A70.. .. .. .. ..

i bought this fone last week but since i cannot access the internet im already thinking of selling it...please help me out soon..

There is no need to sell your device. Just remove your Vodafone card from your cell and insert any other card and start the phone. Then you will get new settings of new inserted card. Now again remove this card and insert your Vodafone card again and start your cell. After booting you will get new settings.
Just go to settings ->wireless networks->Mobile-networks->GSM/UMTS options->ACCESS POINT NAMES-> and you will see Vodafone GPRS.
To start GPRS in your cell Go to settings ->wireless networks->Mobile-networks->TICK DATA CONNECTIVITY
One thing is important that your GPRS should be activated on your SIM card.

HIT THE THANKS BUTTON, IT WILL COST NOTHING. TRY IT..

Well it is quiet simple !
first off,
- Go to settings
- click on Wireless &networks
- Mobile Networks
- ensure there is a tick beside data connectivity and data roaming !
- click on GSM/UTMS Options
- Access point names
- if there is already one for uninor just click on the circle beside it !
- if not just click on the menu button ( it is capacitive button )
- click on add apn
- just enter uninor in APN field
- leave everything black !
- save
- select it
Done ! restart if it does not connect !
