Went to my local Corporate store and talked to a guy I went to high school with who is a sales rep. He said he had heard nothing firm. Went to the back to look for the dummy phone for me to hold. He emerged with the store test phone!! I got to play with it for 5 minutes. The store manager walked over and said he had no idea on release. Reading between the lines, they made it sound like it was in stock. The phone exceeded my expectations, I cannot wait to but it.

They told all their stores and all their CSRs different stories, so they can tell who is leaking info based on what story gets out! :eek:

Remember when people were claiming it was going to come out on 12/12 at 12:12, they were on the right track but Verizon is going after something different then day of the week and month of the year since they've done that before. The clue is that the only real press release they done since the announcement that has really mentioned the Galaxy Nexus has been the one talking about tomorrow, 12/15, being the LTE anniversary. So the the Galaxy Nexus should release on 12/15 at 12:15.
.... or not, I may just be grasping at straws but the good news is that 4G is officially launching in my area on 12/15 so I have that to look forward to once I can replace my OG Droid.

It's as good a ploy as any other they thought of

I just left the Perrysburg corporate store. They have a display unit to see (Mgr had to get it from the back) and was told by said manager they have 60 in stock.

Did they mention a release tomorrow?

So anyone else think the CSRs who said, not sure, but definitely NOT tomorrow, are CSRs who are not working tomorrow? Just sayin.

Some corp stores are saying they have no info, because they're not allowed to and they take their job really seriously. Others are giving out info b/c they don't care. But tomorrow is definite.

NewsFLASH:

A thought: Some VZW Corporate stores are saying they don't know anything because the company that they work for (VERIZON) has not released anything officially. So they don't know anything officially. If they based off rumors that would be lying when you take it as fact and it does not pan out.

All the other VZW reps and 3rd party retailers are just reiterating rumors saying it is coming out tomorrow because they want THE COMMISSION for appearing friendly and knowing.

So my question is:

Would you rather buy from a rep that scheduled an appointment for you on the 9th and cancelled, and now the 15th and cancelled.

Or would you rather buy from the VZW corp employee that is following guidelines and rules and mentions nothing until it is confirmed?

I was 100% sure of the release of this phone tomorrow but my confidence has dropped significantly. I still think there's a chance, but it's small. I got the same rep on the phone that had told me last week that it was tentatively scheduled for the 9th but there was a chance it would be delayed. She told me that there is absolutely nothing set right now and they aren't allowed to divulge tentative dates anymore because of the bad PR they were getting from it.

She said all they are ALLOWED to say is it will be out 100% sure before Christmas.
