Awesome! I love Eugene, was there for most of my childhood, high school and College, only after did I move away. I hope to return to the area some day eventually, although I am enjoying the East Coast too. I am sad the Ducks didn't quite pull things off this year. They are a great team though, so maybe next year?, hopefully? Chip Kelley seems to be quite a ferocious coach. I think they are on the cusp of being able to win a NC, they just need a bit more diversity and flexibility to their strategy.

Seems official to me, he actually typed something into the computer before saying the 15th (I heard it in the background). I am now relaxed and confident I'm getting a GNex tomorrow morning!!

Seems to me the launch is on for tomorrow. Called my POC at my corp store and she said that starting today they are allowed to let us use the demo Nexus (had been keeping it strictly locked up in a cage) and she wouldn't flat out say yes it's launching tomorrow but she said that they will know tonight if they are for sure but don't worry she will be there at open for me. She is one of the strict ones and will not break a rule but she knows how I am with the phones so she is good at hinting around about stuff.
And on the other hand my bro-law who has some retail stores, told me that they are launching it tomorrow but he doesn't have his stock yet and doesn't know when he will.

So, not that anyone needs another "I spoke to a store rep today!" confirmation but I'm going to give you mine anyway
Went in to the Verizon Corporate Store in the Newport Jersey City Mall (NJ) and said to the girl "I know there hasn't been an official release from Verizon..." (this is where she started to nod and cut me off). She replied "No, it's official now. We will be releasing the Galaxy Nexus tomorrow morning. That's what my Manager just told me, and thats as official as I need. However, it's on a first come first serve basis."
Anyways, just thought I would share for poops and giggles. Verizon has succeeded in a 'soft' release.

I see what you are saying. I'm thinking that they wouldn't go through the trouble of updating us today that it is still on track for being released by the end of the year if they are going to announce availability by tomorrow. It's going to be a long 17 days of winter break with no phone.

This is EXACTLY the thought I had. It fits their actions in the past. They send out the announcement, just not necessarily before it comes... Giving them your email is definitely not the fastest way to find out about a new phone...

I just called a store in NoVa and tried a different tactic. I started out asking about my parents phones that are on my plan. I said "so I can have their phones shipped and pick up the Nexus tomorrow" and the guy said "yeah, oh... let me check your account." He said the upgrades were fine, but then asked about the phone and I said the GN and he goes.. "Well, it's not out yet." He told me to check online after midnight and actually said he had cases for it but no demo. Hmph, that's a start.
I wish I could join in the jubilation you guys have. My folks are up in NY and I have the too many things that require the corporate store. They've all been so silent around here...

just called my local corporate store, that has had nexus stock forever and is the one that let me test it out earlier. They told me they have not gotten any word on a launch tomorrow, i still set up a 10am appointment though, this kinda scares me I don't want to get up and head over there for nothing....

Called my Corp store again and the SAME lady (Wendy) told me they have heard nothing at all and that I should sign up for the email, because that's how I will find out. I told her that I did that once before and the email came two days after the phone released and she said "Oh, sorry, but we have heard nothing about a release."

My CSR was even using a Galaxy Nexus as his personal mobile device! He let me use it for a few minutes (first time I've seen it in person). I think he said that he got it yesterday or the day before. Also had him put an extended battery on hold for me. We were comparing the battery cover included with the extended battery and did not notice a perceivable difference in thickness between it and the stock battery cover.
It has to be a very good sign if reps are using the Nexus as their personal devices now!

I know this is off topic but if anyone can help with my question that would be awesome:
Whenever I am signed in to my account all of the phones other that the fruits are 50 dollars off, but I don't see any promotional markings on the page on the top "$50 dollar discount" or whatever they usually say. I am just wondering if this will show up (if the gnex does sell tomorrow) when I go to purchase the phone at the store tomorrow?

Looks like more and more stores are getting the green light for tomorrow. I'm feeling good for tomorrow.
Here is my plan: I've decided that if the Nexus goes up for sale online tonight at midnight, I'm going to order online for (hopefully) delivery on Friday. I'd rather wait another day (since I've waited so long anyway, one more day isn't a big deal) to get mine untouched in the box. I have this, I guess it's a nervous tick, with devices where before I turn the thing on, I NEED to fully charge the battery. No matter how many people say it doesn't matter, I always get paranoid that turning it on before a full charge will mess with the battery stats and isn't good for the battery in general. I also fear the scenario where the rep comes out from the back with the box already opened...and then I get paranoid that the device was already turned on and played with. I'd rather just have it unopened and untouched.
However, if it isn't on sale online until Thursday/Friday and I won't get it till next week, I'll probably just deal with it.

hmmm...I have heard that it's bad luck to name your baby before he comes, but that it's ok to have a name (or a few) in mind. Just as long as it's not completely decided beforehand.
