If you use .jpg's for album art read on...

i love quickpic, its aLOT better than the stock gallery,

but here's a little tip:
if you want to have a folder in your phone's memory full of pictures or videos or songs, but don't want them to show up in the gallery or music player or whatever, just put a .nomedia file in that folder and your phone will ignore it.

To create a no media file, open notepad, and then choose 'save as', put it wherever (desktop or something..), change the 'save as type' to all files, and put in the 'File Name': .nomedia
and just copy it to whichever folder you want.

im not sure how poweramp reacts to it though.

Hi Semus - thanks for the tip, but in my scenario the .nomedia approach doesn't work as it gets rid of ALL media types. My issue was getting rid of the artwork in the gallery. Adding a .nomedia would therefore abolish my .m4a's which I didn't want.

Im a little OCD too. I use TAG SCANNER (600+ songs manually edited... painful but worth the effort) on my computer then copy music to my phone. It embeds (i think) the picture into the mp3. No album or hidden folders needed. No bulky inconsistant apps on phone needed either. I also noticed that if I put my music on the phones internal card rather than the external, the album art appears quicker and smoother
