I hope everyone is having a great time with their new Nexuses/Nexi/Nexussessess. Alas, I am left out in the cold. I went to the store near my house this morning, they brought out a white box of sexy new phone goodness, then told me my $50 loyalty discount does not kick in until 12/29, and despite my best cajoling and sucking up, the store mgr. would not budge. It's only $50, but seeing as I blew $400 on a pub crawl Saturday (TBOX - The Twelve Bars of Christmas, 13,000+ participants, look it up, it is quite ridiculous), I kinda can't rationalize not being a little frugal. I am going to try calling *611 a little later and see if they'll put a little more value on my 9 years of customership (yes, I know, not a word) with Verizon and grant me leniency.

So, anyways, I hope everyone is enjoying unimpeded progress in obtaining their favorite new phone. I have enjoyed everyone's anecdotes, tales of woe, tales of jubilation, expressions of anticipation, manic mood swings (the ones that ended on an "up" note), personal insights, recommendations and general discourse. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to practice keeping myself in check as, in real life, I am somewhat of a sarcastic sonofabitch, and that does not always translate in an appreciated manner in written media. Early, OTD and Steven exhibited exemplary judgment, restraint and tolerance and are owed innumerable thanks for ensuring that this thread remained a positive and enjoyable environment for people who shared a common enthusiasm. Thanks also to everyone who shared with good intent. And to the trolls with nothing better to do than flame? Ain't no thang, all you did was reinforce the effect of people who were here for the right reasons.

I wish I had some witty parting remark, but I don't, so I'll simply say thanks and good luck to all, and I'll probably see some of you in the other threads where I'll be asking stupid, newbie-type questions. I thank you in advance for your tolerance and assistance.

Forums with this kind of camaraderie are few and far between. I was here for the Inc milestone and am honored to be part of the GN.

Looking back, there is a huge sense of genuineness here that is hard to come by. And a lot of that credit goes to how this place is run. Thank you all Admin from my heart for your willingness to serve as volunteers. It is evident here and never goes unnoticed.

Thank you friends I have made in sharing the journey and who I've been in cahoots with through various PM's you all shine bright!

Thank you to the newcomers and lurkers as you've contributed to this thread with anonymity more than you could ever know.

We've made it to the 2%!

Seriously, this was a good turnout considering how many times this has false started, and the lack of any sort of advertising campaign by Verizon.

Good for us, because I hope all of us faithful got a phone and don't get denied.

ATTENTION

There is some of us stuck trying root are phones. WE have UNLOCKED the bootloader and had the factory reset and when trying to push root in ADB we get:

"adbd cannot run as root in production builds"

If verizon blocked something....

I figured that if I could to finagle any kind of discount, plus factor in the discount on accessories, that I'd buy there and walk home with one. We do have GrandmaDroid in this thread. While certainly an 18-40 male demographic, this phone brings together all ages and types of people.

My csr at the corp store had said she would call when she got to work today and I could come get the phone. I called the store at 9am and it turns out she works the afternoon shift today. They told me there was a line and if I waited I wouldn't get the phone today!
I raced to the store only to find that they moved 2 days ago. I couldn't find them and had to call them for directions.
I got in line and waited. When I checked out, they would not let me have both my NE2 (30) and my corporate discount (50). I complained, nicely, and the manager finally said if I bought any accessory he would give me $15 off that and another $15 off my bill. So I got the extra battery with charger.
Now I have my new Galaxy Nexus!!!

Can anyone with the phone confirm or deny Wallet is installed?

Note: after I did the OTA update, my 4g signal went from 1 bar to 2 (we are on the skirts of 4g service here.)
