Help SMS/MMS replacement?

Is there an application similar to the Blur functionality where it combines messages sent to multiple contacts?

Use Case:

I send Frank and Joe a message and it makes one thread.
IF Frank responds, Joe and I both get an MMS with the reply in that thread.
IF Joe responds, Frank and I both get an MMS with the reply in that thread.

Similar to a chatroom, just more efficient. I think the iPhone and maybe sense does something similar. I tried handcent, it doesn't seem to have this.... so any suggestions?

No offense, but I hate being involved in threads where I receive everyone else's response to the original sender.

But I can see where it would be useful! And sorry, don't know of any. Handcent separates them after sending a group message.

And on the other hand, I hate copy and pasting to send something to two or 3 guys that are involved in the same conversation. It also eliminates the whole "What did Frank say anyway?"
"Did he message you?"
"Are you guys talking?"
"Guess your busy"

Type of text streams I am sure some of us are familiar with. He would see me talking to him and I wouldn't have to fill him in. A separate message can always be sent for privacy.

Just helping shed the light on why I like this.

Another instance is:

"Here are the pics of my wife's ultrasound"

I would like to reply to everyone "Thanks" instead of thanks 40+ times. Yes I could use Facebook like the rest of the world --- but I hate it by nature :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this only applies to MMS, correct?

It seems like such a simple feature: add a "reply-all" option to mms messages. I use handcent and I've always assumed it could do this, I just didn't know how....

I know handcent gives you the option of having a batch message thread if u start a text, but the response always went to that indiviudals thread, instead of the batch, for me...
