Help LED Light?

I fixed mine. I think there might be a bug with the auto-importing of applications. I factory reset and didn't log into my google account until after the first steps. That seemed to fix it.

Can't believe I still can't get this to work. May try to download a 3rd party app to hopefully get it going

I recommend downloading lightflow if someone is having this problem which a previous user suggested.. fixed mine

Its not very reliable. It made and ass out of me at the Verizon store when I took it back to exchange it.
The guy did all then same things I did and it worked.

Got it home and it failed again. Booted it and it works.

Unreliable.................... on mine. I'm shoving it back at em till I get one that's reliable.

I installed light flow and it seems to work. Sent myself a text and the LED flashes a lot faster than normal.

In stock form the LED flashes once every 8 seconds. Way too slow imo. a long time to stare at a phone for over 4 seconds to see if you got a notification.

I set different colors for different notifications and different contacts.

It solved my nonrepeating calender notification delema. I was ready to go back to HTC. So all you unsure buyers just give NEXUS a chance.

Well I spoke too soon. So far Im having trouble getting it to work after it was set up. The testing worked in the program....hmm. I'll fiddle with it tomorrow.

BTW, when typing this post the spell checker is not working on my GN.

LightFlow just fixed mine too. I was having the problem where it wasn't doing anything.

I just noticed this:

Screen was on and received a gmail. I turned thd screen off, and the led did not blink,

I believe on my OG Droid, if i had a notification and turned off the screen, the led woild blink?

You can change the speed of the led flash under lightflow settings

Mine is working well not with Light Flow. I must have an unread e-mail right now because it's flashing green at me

Now its working after i uninstalled it rebooted and reinstalled.

+1 for Lightflow, just try it and see if it gets your light working. At first I didn't notice the stock LED but its blink rate is very slow. Lightflow works perfectly and you have a color for pretty much every singe notification you can program. Also has individual contacts without having to use a bothersome 3rd party text app, since I find the ICS messaging to be extremely capable.

anyone have lightflow set to just stay on instead flash? battery sucker or not so much?

Go to the android market and pick up "light flow"

The app works perfectly on the gnex, it will let you change the color and frequency of flashes for most programs that support notifications on your phone. If you get the free one you get all the core apps supported with the exception of facebook. If you get the pay version you get that and many more apps.

BTW I have unchecked run in foreground, which is checked by default for some reason and it works perfectly.. granted I only have had the phone for a day.

EDIT: DOES NOT REQUIRE ROOT

Good to know. I was wondering if any LED changing apps would work with ICS/Nexus. I'm glad to see this. I so miss the multi-colored LED on my OG Droid. The Thunderbolt's LED is, well, useless. It hides behind a grate, has 2 colors that you can't change and is about as bright as an underground cave.

I liked LightFlow at first, but I think it has a problem with syncing after the initial alert.

By this I mean that if I get an email, the LED will flash whenever the screen is off until I open the email app. Removing the notification on the window shade or reading the email on the computer does not appear to update the notification. This is rather annoying since you never really know if the LED is a false positive...
