Just wanted to see how many of you are experiecing horrid battery life like I am.

Life with the nexus seems to be..

wake up, send a few texts.. 90%
go to the store, send a few texts and facebook once .. 80%
let the phone sit in your pocket for a hallf hour.. 76%

I mean really? My battery was dead after 4 hours yesterday. I feel like I own a blunderbolt. The extended battery doesn't interest me since its a mere 300mah extra, what does interest me is getting my phone to work right, or sadly, returning it. This is just unacceptable for a device when I literally have every single battery saving option shut off on the phone. I'm sick of people giving me the same excuse "well, its a 4g phone soo.." because when I shut LTE off.. surprise surprise.. its a 3g phone now!

Anyway discouraged and really on the fence about this phone.. waited forever to get.. this?

Also I am having the same signal problems as everyone else. My other main concern is the amount of lag this phone displays.. especially next to a handset like say.. the Epic Touch, a completely lag free device. I expected more from this phone..maybe a future rom will fix this, if I decide to hold onto it. The eptouch is more tempting each and every day.

Android OS ranges from 25-35% depending. I just took it off the charger an hour ago so I will give you stats in a few hours. Built version is the latest pushed ICS OTA.

Also I had tried letting the battery drain fully and recharging it, as I know sometimes these phones need to calibrate to the battery.

I've been waiting for this phone as well. Haven't gotten it yet but if this battery life becomes an issue for many then I will not be getting the phone. That's aways been my biggest gripe with the incredible. I'm not dealing with it again. And this lag issue, really. Something else I'm not willing to deal with. Please, keep us posted.

The lag is a give and take thing. It comes up with most live wallpaper, however some will run fine for awhile, and then lag. Its almost like something running within the architecture of ICS is causing this. The scrolling is smooth..but the browser is still choppy. Flash is still choppy. Certain apps run choppy. Its just kind of discouraging. The other phone I was going to get, the Epic Touch, is lag free no matter what you throw at it, and for that reason I may still get it and say goodbye to the nexus.

Yup!!! Plus did I read that it only charges with the phone off. No wonder. I was on it all night with it plugged in and kept noticing that the battery wasn't charging very fast. So that may be an issue as well. I mean really? I will drain my battery if I am streaming my Pandora or XM with it plugged in? I listen to them a lot. That would suck to yank the phone off and go out for the night and have no battery left.
OK, doing a test here too. Deliberately only using it normal (as opposed to yesterday, new phone non-stop syndrome) and see how battery does.

I have the extended battery and I have been on the phone all morning, it has been about 4 hours and I have 60% battery left. I have been on wifi all morning though, seeing as I can't get even a 3g signal in my house where I got full 3g with my Droid X. So I guess I can't really help with the "its a 4g phone" battery life, but with the screen on for about 2 hours of the 4 hours it has been discharging, I am pretty happy with the extended battery.

Signal/reception though, such a joke. So disappointing.

extended battery adds almost nothing..you CAN use the stock battery door, but it fit a little too snug for me, one of the edges i couldnt get to lay flush with one side of the body of the phone..the extended battery cover barely adds any size

i actually like the feel of it better with the extended battery and cover..little more solid to me

This is my battery life today with the extended battery and moderate usage

Does the extended battery add bulk to the phone? I recall reading from another user here that you can actually use the stock battery door with it. Is this true? If so, I'll probably pick one up if I decide to keep the phone once it comes in.

It is a tight squeeze, but yes you can actually use the stock battery door for the extended battery. The extended battery door adds something like .5mm of bulk to the phone. Doesn't effect cases either.

Yeah, battery life is draining pretty fast. Unplugged at 100% at 6:30am, did a few texting, about 1 hr of pandora on the way to work, played around with it some more for about 30-45 minutes. Screen display is set at ~45% brightness and can only get 3G at work. Checked the battery status and it's at 45% remaining at 10:30am (4hrs) with the following stats: 57% screen, 20% AOS, 5% phone idle, 5% mediaserver, 5% cell standby, 4% pandora, 2% android system.

I don't think it'll last a full day of moderate use. How do I turn 4G off when I'm in a 3G only location?
