Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. This blows.

I noticed that it was a bit gray/dark, but chalked it up to the display Samsung decided to use. But now that I compared the two, there is definitely a difference.

Does anyone know how the exchange process works? Will they swap it out in the store for me?

not sure if it makes a differnce, but it may be a bit brighter when on a charger than not, could be some of the difference

I did it last night on my MacBook. It took me two tries to correctly installing the SDK to unlock the bootloader, but after that it went fairly smoothly.

There's a nice easy to follow guide by AlexKP at

Awesome, thanks so much!

Africa?? Sheesh. You don't do the little flights at all do ya? I think you should start a Captain's Log thread and post pics from places when you can.
Ooh, liking this idea. :D

Hmm, interesting thought. My laptop tends to get a bit dimmer when plugged in. Maybe the reverse is true on the Gnex?

Thanks for the idea. I will try it when I get home and take a look.

I didn't really care about the screen grayness too much, but when I compared it, I did get a bit pissed.

Do you guys find your white web backgrounds a bit on the gray side?

I hope this is a dumb question with an easy answer.

Is there a way to hide the buttons and use the full screen for movies and browsing? I thought when I watched the demonstration video they displayed movies on the full screen.

I ripped a DVD (no, it's not porno BB) to the full screen size, but the buttons are still there.

Teehee!! I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad to hear that. ;)

Got my Case Mate Barely There case today...absolutely perfect for me. Very slim profile with hardly any noticeable bulk to the phone. It's actually thinner than the one on my Thunderbolt. I wish they had the black chrome color that they have for my Thunderbolt but black is just fine.

I just got back from the VZW store, picked the same case.

The best thing about them is that they are so cheap you can find out for yourself. I have 2, one of them was 5 bucks, the other was 3 bucks. One has a rugged feel on the sides so its grippy, the other is just a slick non-textured one.

The TPU cases on amazonwireless are really nice. I've got a matte black one and it comes with a glossy black lip around it that matches the screen almost perfectly. So it looks like one solid piece up front. I was really impressed with it. And it fits real well.

I also am LOVING my OTG cable.. I tried my canon DSLR and it works perfectly. It imports full size picture in like 2 seconds. Very impressed. I also tried an Xbox 360 controller and it appears to work but doesn't supply enough power to the USB wireless part to sync with the controller. I'm ordering a Y cable for extra juice anyways :)

SUCCESS!!!! BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED! sorry for caps, just excited :D toko about 30 minutes to get the sdk right and correct drivers installed in the correct places, but after that literally took like 30 seconds to unlock haha. how long is this thing supposed to bootloop?

It shouldn't boot loop.. did you use super boot? Or did you manually push the recovery then flashed su.zip?
