I applied my Skinomi screen protector earlier today and am a little disgusted that I feel like I need one due to the lack of Gorilla Glass. After coming from the OG (with Gorilla Glass of course) and NO screen protector and NO scratches, I'm just not a fan of them. Opting with better safe than sorry at this point:mad:!

Anyone regret not getting a screen protector and have gotten some scratches???

Thanks in advance.....I guess I'm holding on to the hope that I might not need one in the end.

The rep I bought my phone from had a GNex- she had gotten it the day before (luckily girl). She told me that shortly after she bought it, everyone was playing with it, and the screen got scratched. I generally don't like screen protectors, but it made me second guess, and I went home and bought the XO skin, should be here next week.

I know there are plenty of people who could care less about the protectors. For my own piece of mind though, regardless of screen composition, I always spend a few bucks for one to put on the phone. I've been using some generic brand, but they've always been more than adequate. I don't need anything crazy, just something simple that will protect against incidentals.

I had OG with a screen protector on it I was using my phone with someone who works for Corning in the gorilla glass department. He took my protector off saying I didn't need it, somehow I got a pretty deep scratch in my screen so I will use screen protector from now on.

That was a huge misconception that people thought that because it has gorilla glass it cannot be scratched. I know people that have a ton of scratches on phones that have gorilla glass.

My first smartphone was the Droid X, which I had for about a year and a half before picking up a G Nex. Had a screen protector on briefly, which just made the display look grainy. Took that crap off.

After 18 months of fun, work, travel, even dropping the thing a few times on hardwood and concrete (!!) - not a single scratch on the screen. Nothing, zero, zip, zilch. Mint.

When I bought the G Nex without any accessories the two CSR's there tried pull the BS routine of "Ohhh.. that's awfully risky!" or even a story of dropping their phone at home or some crap like that. Not going to fool me. I have an exterior case on order so the outside doesn't get nicked up... but screen protectors? Nah.

No screen protector and no regrets. I don't use them and haven't had a scratch on any touchscreen phone I've owned (well, it's possible that were were some tiny ones, but none that I've seen). The only thing I've regretted is actually spending the money on the ones that I have bought. I use a neoprene drawstring Lowepro pouch for when it's in my purse, diaper bag, pocket, etc.

I returned the protectors I bought today. Decided I didnt want to use them. All day long yesterday I kept scrapping the screen on my pocket knife in my back pocket everytime I went to put my phone in my front pocket, kept pissing me off, but not a scratch on it. I stopped using a screen protector on my Dinc 4 months ago and not one scratch on it.

A screen protector is mandatory if you spend any time near sand (or if you carry lots of loose diamonds in your pocket, I suppose).

My original Droid endured months of abuse without a screen protector and never developed a single imperfection on the screen. Two days on the beach and it had multiple scratches... I was even being extra careful with it because I had read on these forums that sand > Gorilla Glass.

After not having a screen protector on my last phone I decided I'd never use one again. I'm very careful with all my phones and I wash all my pants with pockets out to get rid of anything that might be in them.

The GNex is especially nice to use naked, the screen is so smooth and beautiful and I'm not sure if I've seen a fingerprint yet.

don't have one on mine and already have a scratch. I can only see it with sunlight while holding the phone at an angle and it doesn't show up at all with normal usage, but it's pretty annoying to me.

So, now I'm breaking down and getting one to put on after not having one on my Droid X without any problems. If I get annoyed by it I'll probably take it off and risk another scratch.

Before I bought the Galaxy Nexus, I decided that I wasn't going to use screen protectors anymore. So of course when the Verizon sales person asked if I wanted a screen protector, I said "okay". I really don't like screen protectors, but it's a hard habit to kick. And the Verizon person actually did a good job at putting it on. I don't notice any air bubbles or specks underneath it. But I hate the texture of it though. It really gives the picture a grainy look. I'll probably take it off soon.
