Just reposting something i wrote in a thread. Figured more ppl had this similar problem so I'm making it a thread. :D

LINKING FACEBOOK PICTURES

This may help you. First, sync all facebook contacts. Yes this will populate the entire facebook friends list into your phone.

THEN go to your contacts. On top you should see three icons, the multiple faces, one face, then the A star. Click on the black text beneath these icons.(underneath the top ribbon but above your "me" contact entry.

This is where i chose to show only contacts from my google account. Once selected, the google contacts that were also in your FB friends list will maintain their picture while the ones not associated with your google contact list are removed.

VOILA

The vanilla ICS build doesn't have Facebook syncing built in the OS, but that doesn't mean it's not available.

Download the Facebook app from the market and install. Now go into your
Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add Account

Facebook is now there to sync your contacts.

Have you actually tried that yet, because that does not work. The Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus do not allow this without an additional 3rd party app that I am aware of.

I have done this and so has everyone else, after installing the facebook app, going to accounts and then add account, it will let you add facebook, but once you click add it disappears.

I would also add that there are 2 ways to get high res pics to work. If you have a Google+ account synced then you can select the contact's Google+ pic to use. Those are medium res. Or, you can use your own pics. I created a "people" folder in Picasa and uploaded a bunch of high res pics of friends and family then manually chose those photos for each person's contact profile. Now when they call, I get a nice hi-res pic of them filling up half of that beautiful screen.

Takes some time and effort, but I love it.

Make sure to turn ON Maximum Quality and turn OFF Crop, in SyncMyPix to get higher res photos! Otherwise it works good enough for now!

I used this on my phone, worked good for some contacts, others it keeps uploading the wrong picture. I've also noticed that it doesn't show the contact photo in some apps (ie: stock messenger, google talk). Might just have to resort to manually adding the pics.

OK, I replied my method in another thread of similar intent. Here as there everyone seems to be trying to get this working through 'accounts and sync' with failures. I have had similar results on my Moto A855 until I took another approach.

As mentionded, download and install the Facebook app from the market. But instead of adding your FB account from 'accounts and sync', just open the Facebook app, sign into your Facebook account and then click the "sync all" button. The way I read it, that is the method the OP intended. Then everything with your Facebook contact pics and stuff in your contacts will be good in your world.

good luck

There is no sync all button, it does not work with this build of ICS and the Facebook app, you need an additional app for this to work as others have stated.
