12/18/11: Amazon accepting orders again!

I hear you on the patience. I sold my Ipad 1, Kindle DX, and several other electronic gadgets to get this and miss having something large to read and work with. Was hoping the estimated dates were just dates they pushed way out there and that it would ship earlier than that, but doesn't look like it. I guess we shall see.

Let us know if your status changes and I will do the same.

Just got an email from Amazon saying they cancelled my pre order by mistake and I can place it again after midnight.. also said they will send me a $10 code in a few days for the inconvenience.... wish I had the extra cash now...oh well guess I'll wait...

I saw that. Interestingly, the product link in my order for my 32gb champagne is no longer good, but I did see that this link you've posted does show the product. Sort of tempts me to order the 64gb too, just in case.

With my luck, they'd both ship and I'd be in deep doodoo with the wife for all of that money I'd spent. lol

Just re-pre-ordered mine from Amazon after receiving an email from Best Buy saying that my order of 12/2, which I placed after my original order of 11/22 from Amazon had been cancelled, has been put in backorder status. :eek:

I now have pre-orders with Amazon, Best Buy, and my local GameStop. This is getting freaking ridiculous!

well, my OG order does say "Delivery Estimate: Thursday December 22, 2011 - Thursday December 29, 2011" which is exciting but very vague. maybe before xmas, maybe not. My Sphero is on the way and I really wanted to use the 2 together

I just ordered another for my chick, hers says "We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item. It will ship separately. You can cancel at any time."

Well, I've had no change in the order status on my order at J&R (but I ordered from them way late - 12/5), so I went ahead and just did an order for the 32G champagne at Amazon. The status immediately after ordering says:

"Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."

I picked up an iPad2 for the wife for Xmas (she's been wanting one and I think it will be fine for her since she doesn't like to customize stuff a whole lot). I have a feeling I'll be playing with that on Christmas morning!

Android Central tweeted that Amazon is now the best bet to obtain a Prime by Christmas. And Asus says January will have normal stocking levels for North America.

I'm still showing an estimated delivery date of January 5th from Amazon, and I ordered on the 22nd. I'd be one unhappy customer to learn that later orders were being shipped before mine. Anyway, Amazon appears to be the best hope for anyone not yet ordered up.

"Yes. This date is just an estimation and you can expect the order before December 25. Our fulfillment centers and carriers are working hard to ensure packages are delivered as quickly as possible during the holidays. Orders with estimated delivery dates of December 24 or earlier are receiving top priority. I'm confident your order should arrive before December 25."

Me too.

I do have an order with epansys placed on the 14th so maybe I'll get lucky with them and have one before the 25th. Amazon did include free overnight shipping though.

I also did the PO of a 32gb champagne on day 1 (22 Nov), and my order STILL says estimated delivery date of 5 Jan 2012. That's the part that frosts me the most, is that others who ordered the same thing the same thing as I are getting theirs now or very soon, while I still have to wait until the end of the first week of the New Year.

Just be glad you didn't order the 64GB version.. :>

What time did you order on the 22nd? I also ordered a 64GB on November 22nd - got the confirmation email from Amazon at 9:17 am CST.

I also have a January 5th shipment date - estimated January 6th delivery date...
