Password Safe w/o SD Card

I've been using KeePass for as long as I can remember, and it's workable -- it doesn't sync and it doesn't type in passwords for me. The former is sort of an issue but the latter doesn't interest me a'tall.

Problem is that now without a removable SD card it's a lot more involved to keep the device and the desktop in sync. KeePass (at least the version I'd been using on the Droid X) doesn't let me enter/update my keepass database, so I'm considering going to something else. A lot of people have been recommending LastPass.

I need something that will let me manually sync my password database and will give me the option to do so on exit or whenever I so choose. But the sync and update thing is sort of necessary. KeePass, BTW, is great if you use DropBox but I don't. I've got an account but don't really want to have a two- or three-piece solution.

Any ideas -- feel free to fire away...

Thanks in advance...

Absolutely...but knowing there are solutions out there that do it wirelessly -- on the spot, on the fly -- are a lot more attractive to me. I always manage to forget to sync/copy over the kdbx file, even when I actually remember to connect the data and not the charge cable.
This is why I use dropbox. I leave the file in the dropbox folder on my laptop, and anytime I change it, it is updated to the web automatically. Then I open dropbox on my phone, and click on the file. It downloads the latest file and opens KeePassDroid in one click.

I do not see another way to use KeePass by itself and have it sync. You will need to have some way to host the file on the web.

Edit: There might be an app that syncs files when the phone is on the same WI-fi network as the host computer, that might work.

Edit 2: If you need to be able to edit your password on the phone, you can use the 1.x version of KeePass, KeePassDroid would be able to edit those files.

Makes complete sense -- but I'd prefer not bothering with DropBox and having such a clunky solution to something that should be really simple. I agree, your method is functional and prolly the best solution short of an integrated two-way storage server, and this is prolly the direction in which I'll wind up going.

Thanks for the info, I'll see about using a 1.x version of KeePass -- what about if I start a new database with the Droid version and then edit that on the PC side? Might work, might not. Might as well check it out...

Thanks again for the heads up and the info...
