how to remove sd-ext ?

FOUND A SOLUTION !!! :
I had the same problem but found a simpler workaround. Settings>SD card and phone storage>Unmount SD card. Once the SD card is unmounted, select Format SD Card. This will format and merge all partitions into a single FAT32 partition.

YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA so back up everything that you need. This worked out easier for me since I had just partitioned the card to EXT and FAT32 and didn't have any data in it.

So i have a 8GB sd card, and it says i have 7.44 GB left after i formatted, is that suppose to say that ?

It might be.

I've had 4 different SD Cards total, & only one of them indicated the advertised capacity when it was new.
The latest SD CARD that I purchased, a 16GB-CLASS 10,only had about 14.7 GB of usable/total storage available, brand new, right out of the box.

Whether buying a more expensive, better known brand of card will get you more actual storage,I'm not sure.

I'd use a card reader & hook it up to your desktop/laptop & go on-line & search for something that may give you a more thorough explanation of what exactly is/may be remaining on your card.
My guess is there is a 500mb or so of a partition that isn't showing up.

Do you remember what that capacity of your card was when it was brand new?
