I agree. I won't lie...despite owning 3 previous droids, I still hesitated my first time, lol. But if the GNex is your first android, theres likely a lot of stuff that confuses you lol.

Been skimming through this thread.... Can anyone find or find a solution to only display contacts with phone number inside the people app. I dont need hundreds of email addresses in there. If i want to email someone I open gmail not People.

Yes. But i just noticed autocorrect is gone in the browser. It was still there in the messaging app though

Apparently the People App shows all contacts, but the Phone App Contacts Tab only shows Contacts with Phone numbers.

Ah you know what CrazyGio, I guess im just going to stop using the people app. In the phone app the right tab is called frequently called but if you scroll to the bottom of that list everyone with a phone number is displayed. Ill use that from now on. Thanks guys

AirDroid is not liking IPv6 on my WiFi network or it isn't liking my Debian workstation. I'll probably use dropbox for most stuff other than music anyway... and Google Music has my tunes alreday.

I got the results I wanted with the following settings, and I think you're looking to do the same thing.
Open the People App.
Hit the center tab, the one with just a single person.
Right below that is a thin line that reads "Contacts In Custom View." Tap this.
You'll be in a page labled "Contacts to display." Mine lists my Twitter, Gmail, and G+ accounts. At the bottom of the list is a wrench and "Customize." Tap this.
You go to "Define Custom View." I tapped my Google gmail account.
This opens up a bunch of check boxes.
I have "My Contacts" and "Starred in Adroid" checked off.
That's it.
That eliminated all my G+ contacts that I follow but don't actually contact and a few other contacts that I figure I must've emailed somewhere along the way once or twice.

Just kidding!Good idea to post this as a separate thread. More people will see it that way. I actually meant to do that myself and got too busy with life outside of my phone.
One other tip: You don't have to reboot. Plug your phone in, push the power button once, then wait aboug 5 to 10 seconds and the screen will come on. My theory is that additional LED may be the AMOLED screen itself and the app is trying to control the whole screen like a notification LED.
I would agree with your theory. I got all excited and thought there was a HIDDEN LED somewhere, I got excited until my screen wouldn't turn on.

I think some of the confusion is from what people consider "closed", as well as the android activity lifecycle state (see image below from Google/Android). It appears to me that if the app has had onStop() previously called it will then call onDestroy(), but it the app is not in the onStop() state it won't affect the app. Ergo the confusion as to whether "close" means stopped or destroyed. If you look at Activity | Android Developers, the only process states that are "killable" are onStop() and onDestroy(). So my guess would be is that this is what the recent app list is looking at in determining what action to take with swiping off the list. (And maybe an important coding note re onStop() vs onPause() for anyone coding apps who want to maintain a persistent state?)
So yes, swiping "closes" an app that has already been stopped and relegated to cache (onStop() state, whose memory would eventually have been claimed when needed by another app), but does not "close" an app that is currently "running" (not stopped). So the recent app list swipe action is dependent upon the app's current state, sometimes "closing" the app and sometimes not, as opposed to being a traditional "task killer". Fair enough?

I just made a custom contact list that didn't include any contacts without Phone #s. Then I selected only that list via Settings>Contacts to display>Customize
Worked like a charm! Good luck

On the stock launcher, while in the launcher sitting at a home screen, you can press the area at the bottom right of the softkeys (or bottom left, if you're running the dual legacy menu button mod) - where the "three dots legacy menu button" normally would show, even though that button isn't actually there, it will pop open a really handy menu for:

System settings
This is very much like how you USED to get to system settings, so another quick way to get there other than the notification pulldown or app list.

I've been using LightFlow since I got mine and very satisfied. However an issue I'm having is sometimes it blinks without there being a notification and it wont disable until I disable and re-enable LightFlow. You, or anyone else, encounter a similar issue?

kinda OT and its a question: for people that are using Volume+, is it working properly? i've increased the volume for the speaker settings but it doesn't seem to be any louder. headset volume works though. i can tell the difference but external speakers i can't. anyone else have this issue? or am i just doing something wrong?

Check your setting for when LightFlow turns off the notification. I had that too and it was because I dismissed the message out of the notification window and LightFlow was set to turn off the notification when the app containing the message was opened. There is a setting to turn off when the notification window is opened and you can also set the time the notification blinks (for example you can set it to notify you for 5 minutes after the message arrives and then stop blinking).

It allows you to text "wheres my droid" to your phone number from any phone, and it will turn the volume all the way up, and ring for 5 minutes straight (or until you stop it on the phone when you find it in the couch)
You can create your own message to type in.
