Boxwave vs. XO Skins

These two screen protectors seem to be the favorites of the ones available. Has anyone had experience with both either on the Galaxy Nexus or past phones? If so, thoughts? Any issues with dry application vs. wet application? (I've only ever had dry application protectors.)

I'm interested in this as well. I bought a Skinomi protector, and while it's good quality and very clear, I got a lot of dust under it when applying. I've used many wet protectors in the past and never had this issue so I'm thinking it may be the protector itself. I'm thinking of trying a dry one and the Boxwave seems to be the favorite. I wish that SGP would release some protectors for the Nexus. I have heard good things about them, but never used one (have only used wet ones)

I ve used Boxwave for the last couple of years, the clarity on their protectors are amazing. I actually got the XO screen protector, but might switch back to Boxwave.....I think they are superior.

I ordered a xo one a few days ago should be here soon...I already got a small scratch on the left side of the screen...deep enough you can see it with the screen off..like wtf! makes me super sad

The XO Skins are simply amazing. I honestly can't tell it's even there. I don't see how any screen protector can be better.

Never really liked BoxWave. What's the point of a screen protector if the screen protector gets scratched?

XO Skins appears to be the same material (3M Scotchgard) as Zagg/BSE/PhantomSkinz/BodyGuardz/etc.

How difficult is the wet application process? I've only ever used dry application on my phones, and the one time I did a wet application (Phantom Skinz I think) on my wife's phone, it came out like crap.

ok guys here it is. sorry i couldnt get a pic with the phone on but trust me, the Boxwave screen protector is on and its super clear. i'm also using the incipio case from verizon. took the picture with my wifes iphone 4.

I put the boxwave SP on teh GNex in the bathroom using lots of steam. took me a while to make sure there wasn't any dust on the screen but i finally got no bubbles.

it definately makes me feeel better knowing its well protected!

Ditto. It really is phenomenal. I used to hate those shitty Verizon ones. Makes me wonder how I ever put up with them for so long.

I really don't see how any protector could be superior to the XO skins either. They're damn good. I mean at worst you just can't lose if Box is just as good or better.

I recently got the XO skins (with wet application). It was my first attempt at it ever as well. It went amazing for me. It's really simple. Wet everything (not directly on phone, but fingers and both sides of skin). Get into correct spot. Squeegee out excess and dry with cloth.

I had a NEAR perfect application. I'm talking 2 micro bubbles on an edge and unless I polish the skin and then keep the screen off and then hold it at an angle, can I only see the bubbles. and only because I am OCD perfectionist did I even find them and let them bother me.

Wet to me seems to be superior for installation. I never did a high end dry (only used awful Verizon ones) but I could NEVER get them right. First (and only) try on wet and it was CAKE. I used steamy bathroom method too.

Thanks so much for the post. Out of curiosity, does the protector cover th entire top by the earpiece? Yours looks like it does even though the image Boxwave provides shows it not doing so.

I bought it from amazon. Payed for 2 day shipping which was expensive as hell. It actually covers most but it does not cover the front facing camera or speaker in the front. Those parts are cut out of the screen protector.

You cant get better than them. I have been using theirs for years. They are the military grade material, but theirs are uv coated to stop yellowing and give it a smooth look.

If you are going to use a case, get a case fit. Its a tiny bit smaller so the case wont pic at the end of the xoskin. Hope that helps

Just installed the XO skin last night. This is my first screen protector on any phone, so i was uncertain on how easily it would go on. Not too bad at all for my first try. As you can see, it is REALLY clear and hard to tell that it is even there. VERY happy!

I used Phantom Skinz before too, they arn't that good...

The XO Skin was very easy, Spray your fingers with solution provided, spray both sides of skin, lay on and use the squeege to get the extra solution out. Quick tip- go in your bathroom, turn on the shower with hot water. It settles the dust down, so you dont have to worry about it getting under the protector.

I'm debating which of these two to get aswell.
I have the SGP flex, the first one installed fine but the phone's screen was defective oso i had to exchange it. Second application went bad, dust and specks under the protector.

Also as with all "skins" they collect oil and get really rubbery really quickly. Definitely considering the boxwave as it doesn't really leave any parts that are easily scratched uncovered. Plus i like the feel of hard protectors, glass-like.

My one question is, i hear they are "reusable" what does this mean exactly?
