All,

I was reading the reviews posted in one of the thread and two things jumped out at me:

1. The charger was shown in one photo and it looked like it had two USB ports - do we know why that would be the case?
2. One of reviews mentioned a Motorola branded external battery. Has anyone heard about it before? Is that why the charger has two USB ports? To charge the phone and the external battery at the same time?

Motorola does sell an external battery pack

Whether or not this is why there might be two USB ports is another matter...

New model or not I'm sticking with my Anker Astro power pack. It has 5600mAh which should be more than enough capacity for most any smartphone.

Same here. I have a Sanyo one with dual USB ports, USB and AC charging - what better can I find.

The only better thing is the XPal 18000 which as the name implies has 18000mAh capacity

And hopefully has more juice. The predecessor only had 1420mAh, which in toda's world is nada.
I have the P893 and it has a USB port for universal charging in addition to the micro USB tail. It is 1860 mAh. It will get you an additional 6-8 hours but not much more. It is very compact though and I like it very much. If you only need something for quick backup it cant be beat.

This is the one that comes with the free Costco accessories pack. I just got mine in the mail today.

I use one and it does the job. It essentially gives you a second Razr battery in terms of use time. It is slim and light, so can be carried in a pocket easily. It also can work on two devices at the same time if needed.
