Word of warning, not so scratch resistant

That's funny because I have never had a scratch on my iPhone.

I never used a screen protector on my OG Droid and I discovered a very annoying scratch on it a couple of months ago. My phone lived in a slip case and always went into an empty pocket.

I watched my wife drop her OG Droid face down onto the sidewalk. She didn't have a screen protector either and didn't get a single scratch.

What's this prove? Absolutely nothing.... but I have a screen protector on my Gnex!

What's with this YouTube video of a guy taking a key to the Gnex screen and not a single scratch on it. I have it for 2 days putting in and out if my pocket and now has a nice nickel size gash taken out if it...my screen protector will be here tomorrow.

Something like that makes me super angry bc I have like ocd with it and contemplating paying the insurance to get another one -___-

Sorry for the rant I'm just hoping when I put the screen protection on it, the gash will be harder to see .

Because not everyone walks around with their pockets full of razor blades and diamond dust?

When you buy well-made phones and treat them with a moderate degree of care it's a waste of money. Six years of smartphones and the only thing I've ever scratched is the back of one--drops and all.

I wouldn't consider $5 screen protector for a $300 device a waste of money.

I wasn't even aware quality screen protectors came that cheap. Doesn't change the fact that all most people are buying is peace of mind. If someone is excessively clumsy or spends time in rough environments, then don't misunderstand--it's warranted by all means.

My wife and I have both had multiple drops severe enough that the batteries were ejected from our phones, and have never damaged any of our GG screens. (We both work in lab coats that have pass-thru pockets with no bottoms).

Another case where it's probably warranted is if you keep your device for a long time.

That sux. Thats why I put a xoskin on any screen I own. Try one it will probably fill in that scratch.

Put this screen protector on my phone and hated it. Garbage if you ask me. Rubber like material that if scratched leaves the scratch mark on the screen protector. Also the screen protector is very sticky made operating the phone with one hand a nusiance.

is there a reason why people still don't put screen protectors on phones?

Yes. Display fidelity, constantly looking through the imperfections of a scratched screen protector, the thumb feel of a bare screen is smoother and more consistent than a protector-covered screen, etc.

I'm using a screen protector on my Nexus for now, but I imagine that once the device becomes more tool than toy just as every other new and shiny phone that I have had has, it will probably come off. I like the responsiveness and feel of an exposed glass screen better than any plastic screen protector material that I've tried. I'm just picky that way.

Personally, I just don't worry about little things like that. None of my phones have ever had any scratches significant enough to bother me for more than the 10 minutes after discovering the scratch.

And realistically, most of us in 18 months will be hunting down the next great phone anyway. So by the time I anticipate any amount of dents and scratches I'll be lusting after some new phone and won't care about the scratches on this one.

I'm skipping the screen protectors. I don't like the way some of the lighting gets diffused. I feel the same way about slip covers on my furniture. It ain't happening. If the damage is serious enough I'm just getting a new toy.

I just put a screen protector on my Galaxy Nexus, have had it about a month. No scratches yet thankfully, I wont keep it on there long, just wanted one for a while.

I have never put a scratch on any of my screens, at least since I got my g1. Well until I got this phone, I was using my wife's iphone 4s before I got my Nexus. I put one little scratch on it, only could be seen under lighting. Her iphone 4 was never scratched, and the iphone 4s never was until then either.

I am very careful with my phones, so I am not sure how it happened. Sometimes I think it is just a fluke and it happens.

The quality of this screen seems as good as the others I have used. I wouldn't worry about it to much, but sometimes it can just happen.
