I have the Incipio case and like the way it looks and feels on the Nex. I don't like placing it in my pocket though, so I've always carried it in a horizontal leather case on my belt. The problem is I can't find one that fits with the case. I did find one nice one made for the HTC Titan at the AT&T store, but I'd have to go without the Incipio. Anyone had any luck with this?

I got the Diztronic case. Decent, doesn't fit the extended battery perfect, but close enough. It seems like it would protect very well but it's slippery and eliminates any dock possibilities. I don't know why I bother with cases.

I too got the Diztronic case due the how slippery the phone felt to me. The case is more slippery than my Eris case, but nowhere near as slippery as the actual phone. I've also got an extended battery coming, so I'm glad to hear that it mostly fits. Where exactly do you find that doesn't it fit?

P.S. Good to see another person from the Eris section here.

It's pulled a little tight and on the sides it doesn't pull completely around the front, especially near the bottom where the extended battery sits. Really nothing to worry about though.

Too bad no one uses the nice rubbery coating that HTC uses on the Eris, it held up beautifully and was just grippy enough to hold on to.

Wondering if anyone is using either the body glove or otterbox commuter case with the extended battery. I guess I will have to be the guinea pig if not...

I can confirm the otterbox commuter fits with the extended battery. 2 of the corners have a slight gap, the other 2 corners fit just fine. Case still works perfectly though.

Haha I know what you mean. I really don't want to use a case, but I'm so scared of dropping my phone. My plan is to not use a case on a day to day basis, but use a case whenever I'm traveling out of town, or going out at night on weekends. Of all the phones in my sig, I didn't use a case with any of them and didn't break any. I dropped my atrix and got a dent on the bottom, and someone else knocked my captivate and put a dent on the botton of that also. Luckily they both functioned.

Since this case is made of some type of "rubber", I guess its called TPU, people assume it's going to add grip, but those diztronic cases are actually some type of smooth rubber, so even tho it's matte, it's doesn't grip. TBO, sometimes I feel like the glossy smooth cases actually add more grip that a matte case like the diztronic cases. Smooth surfaces allow your skin's oils to build up and add grip, textured or matte surfaces do not. Just feel your phone and you can see the screen actually has more grip than the textured backing.

Well, after reading around on this forum and elsewhere, I ended up purchasing the Diztronic case, matte black translucent. I'm happy with the way it fits so far. I've taken a few pictures to help those still on the fence with their decision regarding this case.

Please note that the phone has the EXTENDED BATTERY in it. Even with the extended battery, the case still fits nicely.

My only gripe is that, as many others have noted, the volume rocker does not have a cutout. I will see how I like it for a day or two, but I'm guessing I'll be taking a blade to the case to change that.

Additionally, I am using the screen protector that came with the case while I wait for my XO Skins protector to arrive. Overall, it's fine for a temporary, but I don't think I'd be happy long-term. It is a dry application (I prefer wet, as I feel it gives better results), and it goes on pretty easily. You can see in the pictures that it doesn't quite reach the edges. In addition, it has a pretty strong rainbowing effect.

Now for pictures:

I have been able to get the seidio surface case to work with the extended battery!

Two things needed to be done for it to work.

1. Peel away and cut off a little of the felt backing inside the bottom portion of the seidio surface case.

2. On the standard battery cover, snap off the two tabs on the bottom that snap the cover into place on the bottom of the phone. This will allow you to use the standard battery cover with the extended battery.

Now put the seidio surface case back on and you're good to go. Hope this helps some wanting to use the extended battery with a case. This method may work for other cases too. Post your results if you give it a try.

I got the purple silicone case from Verizon when I got the phone. I had a screen protector put on it, but the case peels up part of it. Is there a way to put it on so that this doesn't happen or do I need to take the case back and find something else?

I think more than anything it's the cheap screen protectors that Verizon sells that cause them to peel up. If you like the case I would recommend trying a different screen protector.

I myself purchased a screen protector from them and the slightest thing touching it would cause it to come up.

Just my two cents. Hope it helps.:)

Just got my Seidio surface.....I love it. BUT the two pieces are difficult to get apart. Hard to change the battery. I'm sure it will be easier once it's worked in a little more. I have a steinheil Ultra Oleopobic screen protector on it. It feels good, not slippery and has a good weight. I'll take pics later. Can some one post how I would go about posting them?

Anyone having a problem with the volume button on the Diztronic cases? Seems like it's misaligned too me.

Yeah mine depresses the volume down button when pressure is applied any where near the button on that side of the phone. Makes it difficult to hold it without turning the volume way down.

I emailed Diztronic about it and they said they were sending me a replacement. Not sure if the replacement will be any different, but it's worth a try.

If the new one is the same I will probably just cut a hole as I see others on this thread are doing.

I agree...there protectors are cheap but this one came from Best Buy (Zagg). I had one on my Dinc and loved it. I'm not sure what to do at this point as I feel like it needs "some" protection until I can settle on a permanent case. Thanks for you input! :)

I just wanted to share that I got my extended battery, and this case fits perfectly with the Verizon High Gloss Silicon cases.

Set Your Location

They come in black, purple, and blue.

There are no gaps, or anything displaced. It really looks as if the cases was made for extended battery.

There are no lint issues, it gives a good grip, and I think it protects the phone bettery than any other case out there. The silicon is hard, but the case comes off easily in case I want to replace the battery.

my $ .02

Seidio, I think you should really ditch the kick stand on your active cases. They are not very attractive. Your active cases looked much better prior to the kick stand implementation

Thanks for your feedback! We have done it on some recent ACTIVE's but not for all. We will have an ACTIVE without a kickstand for the Galaxy Nexus within the next week.

I just got the Otterbox. First time I have ever had a case. I have the standard battery and it seem my case is just a bit longer than the phone. So if I shake it I can feel it slide back an forth in the case. Anyone else have this problem or did I just get a bad case?

Oh I forgot to add. The screen protector on mine has a slight blur to it. When it is not on the phone it is not crystal clear. Is this normal too?

I just got my Otterbox and noticed the same thing about the screen protector. It looks oily or hazy. I like the case itself, but not the screen protector.

I think I'm going to find a good screen protector to apply directly to the phone and cut out the Otterbox one.

My phone with extended battery fits perfectly in the Otterbox.

step 2 doesn't sound like something many will want to do. why did you have to snap off those two tabs? aren't people using the OE cover with extended battery without that modification?

The OE cover fits perfectly with the extended battery, just tested it myself. The clips that hold it on are under slightly more pressure, so if you dropped your phone with the extended battery compared to the regular battery, there's a slightly higher chance of those clips coming undone, but the increase is minimal.

Picked up the diztronic TPU myself, and it fits fine with no problems at all with the extended battery, have to wait an hour or so - due to the XO skins screen protector I got - before I turn the phone on and see if I have to cut out the volume area or not.
