I have been thrilled thus far with this phone and an advocate for the battery life, as it's generally performed beyond my expectations.

However, I am having issues with a lot of drain in the evening. I can generally get a couple of days out of the battery, sometimes a little more. But, I've had a couple of nights recently where it will lose close to 20% of it's battery overnight. A couple nights ago, I had charged it, turned everything off through running apps and task manager. It had 100% of it's battery when I set it down that eve, but in the morning, I checked it and it was at 82%. Similar last night, though I think it lost even more battery.

Strange, yet frustrating. Any thoughts on this and what might be causing it? I check to be sure everything is off, including web connection and Wifi.

The other issue I had last night was with the 'talk' app. A relative called through Google Video Chat. And while I was able to see him, and me, he said he had no camera feed on his Mac. (Mac to phone connection) It was my first time using this app, but he saw I was up in Google and called just to try it. We've chatted through Google Vid Chat before on our computers with no problem, but this didn't work visually, though voice was fine. I did note a small lock on the image of me (picture in picture sort of thing, if you're not familiar), but couldn't figure out how to enable the camera feed on his end, and tapping the lock did nothing, couldn't find any settings options, etc.

I'd appreciate any help with these issues, if possible. Thank you in advance!

with your first issue honestly i think the norm is most people charge their phones at night while sleeping. So you could try that if it is reasonable. I plug mine up at night every night.

Your second issue is a good question. That is sort of using talk on a cross platform basis. Just thinking about it i would think it should work. If i get time tonight i'll try it on my G Nex and see what happens.

I had a problem with my V Cast Media Manager backing up my media to Verizon's cloud at night and killing 20% to 40% of my battery. You can turn off the media you do not want to sync, but you cannot fully disable the Media Manager. In my case, even when un-selecting all the media options, my phone would decide to sync anyway.

Not sure if this is causing your drain, but if so, turn it off under Accounts & Sync -> V Cast Media Manager

Trophy - thanks for the thoughts. I don't charge at night unless I need to, and haven't had to do it too frequently. Let us know of your experience with 'talk,' curious to hear how that might work. Going to see if there's a Google Vid Chat app, I think Skype is a good option as well.

Stagger - great thought! I checked my settings and that may have been doing it I really don't use V Cast, so turned off all the options, as recommended. Will see.

I need to get my arms around the sleep mode as well. Have used it, but it doesn't seem to turn itself on consistently.

Cheers.
