Help LG Esteem - Rebooting at will? An Update is coming!

i would have disagree with a select few, but i agree going to Metro for a New one. pomf probably venting on this situation. it can be frustating at times (Reboot).

well its almost been a full day meaning 24 hrs, i deleted go launcher & did a HARD RESET not factory reset & so far NO REBOOTS. am hoping this did it & doesn't reboot anymore because ive tried literally everything , so far everythings good, am hoping it stays that way, if it were to start rebooting again i guess ill just take it back for a new one.

I did the same thing too however I have not factory reset don't know if I should I will get an extended battery just to see if it is a battery issue

You should deff. Do the factory reset. That might fix your issues. I did a hard reset then updated so maybe you should Do a hard reset since u already got the update and see if that helps.

I did do the update and then hard reset and the other part that I did not do was that after I took go launcher off i didn't factory reset however still reboots

it just rebooted,

i guess ill go on monday for a new one. at least its not as bad as others rebooting multiple times, but still that rebooting issue annoys the f out of me lol

Im not having any issues anymore, I dl one of those auto memory optimizer apps and set my parameters and boom, no more ag,freeze or nothing, got it ocd at 1.6, this phone went from a 6.5/10 to a 9/10, only thing that drives me crazy now is the 5-7 minutes it takes to reboot

Just noticed that while under wifi it has not rebooted so umm battery issues while under data? Maybe the data is putting a strain on the battery

Metros LTE/4G is hell on battery life!!! Just go one day w/o 4g and see the diff.

Hi! I recently purchased my LG Esteem **BRAND NEW** from Wirefly.com (for a great price...I might add) and my phone had the random rebooting issue that has previously been described. I updated the phone (through the USB cable) through LG's website as previously mentioned & IT DID NOTHING TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. I then took the phone to the local MetroPCS store & they also did some kind of "update". THIS ALSO DID NOTHING TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. Anyways...now to present day, I have a perfectly fully functioning LG Esteem. Wanna know how? I'll tell you. I HAD A REPLACEMENT SENT OUT TO ME, FROM THE RETAILER, DUE TO THE PHONE BEING DEFECTIVE. NO UPDATES, NO HARD RESETS NOTHING WILL WORK. GET A NEW REPLACEMENT PHONE FROM YOUR RETAILER. The new phone didn't even have the newest update in it, btw. Hope this helps!!

While on wifi never rebooted just noticed last night however if a call came in it will reboot if a couple of texts came in it will reboot as well so this gets better thanks everyone for their ideas and suggestions tomorrow I'm getting an extended battery just to see

WOW! mine only reboot when i hit the +volume. never on text or call. this when i had ADW launcher & a couple of apps, i just did a factory reset & formatted my SD card. leaving it bone stock. i'm going tomorrow to Metro for a replacement. i just love how they charge you $30.00 for over the counter swap out, or $10.00 for a mail in one. but thats their policy.

Yeah that is how metro rolls I am on a waiting list for 2 weeks now and will check tomorrow I really need a replacement this has been frustrating

do you have to take it back to the original store where you got it or could it be any metro store? and do they charge you for a replacement even though the phone is defective? im planning on returning tomorrow but i was just wondering if it could be in any metro store and if they charge you? :thinking:

They charge $30 for an over-the-counter exchange, and $10 by mail.
And, if you dealt with a corporate store take it to them. Authorized dealers are separate entities, so you'd have to take it back to them if you bought it from them.

if it only happen once, i would wait on the update. you dont wanna cheat yourself out of rooting.
