Do you have a tip/trick for ICS? Post it here.

Any suggestions? Anyone having similar issues? Let me know. Thanks!! Also - does anyone know how to get the same Google search bar back that is on every screen of the stock launcher? It was acting up, so I slid it over to the X, but then when I went to put it back it was a different search bar. The original one is slim and clear where the one it puts back is thick and black. Thanks again!

setting->apps->all->google search (it should be on bottom if its disabled)

Hi. I don't know if this was already mentioned (I didn't want to read through 9 pages of replies), but not all usb cables are the same.

My OG Droid usb cable input specifications are 0.2A and ouput of 850mA, while the Galaxy Nexus usb cable input is 0.15A and output is 1.0A.

I am only using the cable that came with my GNex, both for transferring files and especially for charging, since it receives a different amount of power than other cables.

Are you saying the cables have resistors in them?

In my galley folder I have 20 pictures that I took on a train, they are showing up in my gallery folder as "instant upload with a small multi colored circle on the bottom left hand side.
I want to delete these pictures but cant as there is no option to delete them................how can I delete them?????

The only way I found is to delete them from Google+ on pc, then sync Google+ and Google Photos on the Nexus.

Is there a way to set your voicemail password in the phone so that it inputs it automatically when you call?
Yes, go to your dialer>touch 3 dots on top right>settings>voicemail settings>voicemail number>advance cursor to end of *86>press and hold *# key>comma inserts a pause, then add your voicemail access number followed by a # >press OK. Took me a long time to find that out.

You would have figured it out much sooner if you would have seen where I posted it in here a while back ;)

to make it easier type this *86,,yourpassword#

I like the haptic feedback setting, but I'm not sure if it is
supposed to work outside sms and such applications??

When navigating in menus it doesnt seem coherent with
the setting I made. Then I must say I use swift key as a keyboard,
and this app is active and has it's own haptic setting that
works everywhere the keyboard is used - if that may have anything to
do with it.

I hate to ask a question since it's not technically a tip but...In the cadr I use one of those dual USB cigarette lighter adapters and then two USB cables, one mini to my TomTom GPS and the other micro to my Samsung. (Both gotten from Monoprice.com) My Droid X used to charge fairly fast (even with an extended battery) but the Nexus charges painfully slow. (I think the last estimate I noticed was 6-7 hours for a full charge ;P)

My question is...should I use an official Verizon mobile charger with the passthrough USB instead? Is it likely my Griffin PowerJolt Dual isn't 1amp out? Could it possibly be the microusb I'm using? I'd really like to use a cigarette lighter that charged both my TomTom and phone at the same time, I wonder if I have an older PowerJolt Duo that isn't higher amperage for some reason...

This is what I currently have Looks like it's only 500ma out.

The universal micro one though looks like each port is 1amp out..I may need to swap devices :(

Just found an awesome app called morequicklypanel that puts system controls in the notification area.

Thank you!!!

Wish there was a free one, but $1.28 will do rather than switching to correct page on launcher.

too many times i'm in an app and it says, "wifi needs to be on". then need to "home", slide, turn on, back to orig app. Now Slide notification down and on!!!

So now the big question is when will an app be out that lets you easily toggle LTE? The only ones are like those that came out for the Thunderbolt that are shortcuts to the mobile network page lol. That's still 3 steps to swap on and off from LTE. You shouldn't need to be rooted for that, since it's really just a menu option you flip on and off...I wonder when someone will code it.

You should take special notice of the rated outputs for charging devices because the GN is shipped with a 1.0A charger indicating that's what it needs to charge efficiently. The GN wall charger is taking about 1.5 hrs on the OE battery so.......
Beware of cheap-o 12V USB adapters especially ones that do not provide output rating specs.

Here is one rated to output 5.0v @ 2.01A, that would mean 1.0 A per port. Nice.

It's natural for a "tips" thread to rapidly become more of a "quest for support" thread as time goes by. Nothing at all wrong with that at all, we see it all the time. :)

The only thing about that which can have a bit of a negative twinge to it is that those seeking support are basically restricting their "audience" to just those who click into this particular thread, rather than all those who land on the front page of this device forum.

Some of you might want to start a nice new thread on your support issue.

No biggie, just an observation. :)

Voice Dialing worked when I first purchased the phone 2 nights ago. I've added a few apps (Spotify, Facebook) and moved somethings around, added email accounts, and now I'm getting "can't find handheld device" error message. I've turned bluetooth both on and off - no help. I talked to CS and they suggested wiping the phone - which I've done, after the usual trouble shooting steps - and it's still not working. CS says at this point there's no other reported instances of this problem.

Anyone else either having the problem or have a solution?

Have same issue. I think I can get the same results hitting the microphone in the google bar at the top of the home screen, but the app does not work and we are not the only ones. The issue for me is it says "lost connection to headset" never had a headset or bluetooth configured. Pisses me off.

I've noticed it does charge much faster with the OEM connected to my computer, versus several knock off's I've got laying around connected to 110 volt.

indeed me too, the charger and usb cable which came with the phone seem loads better than any of the others i have in my house... just a shame i cannot buy them from anywhere :(

Unless someone has a link for genuine Samsung USB parts (charger and cable) and not cheap clones? They do seem to be different than all my others and it's killing me only having one cable that works with my phone :(
