I am about to travel across the country for the first time with my Nexus, and with the GPS going and bluetooth streaming music I cannot get my current charger to keep up or just keep it from loosing power. I know that the charger does not put out enough juice, so my question is can somebody point me to one that will possibly a double port and still keeps in a small package? The one I use now you can't even see if it were not for the light when its plugged in, it is almost flush.

Thanks for any help

A Motorola car 12V charger I have and a Verizon brand unit both are pretty good putting out about 1.0A.
Some are weaker than others. Your going to have to find one that lists the output specs and go for one that puts out at least 750mAh to 1.0A.

I was navigating powered by my Laptop USB port and it lost power very slowly and swapped to an old Verizon coiled corded unit and she topped off to 100% pretty fast while navigating.

If it does not list the output in the fine print don't buy it.

And it powers just like it would from a wall plug would? How bout while using gps etc

Yep. It produces enough juice to run my MacBook and charge the battery in it with a 15 inch screen on full brite. If the wall charger that came with the Nexus won't keep up with the phone while using the gps, nothing will. A dc to ac converter is a handy gizmo to keep in your car. Got mine at Radio Shack years ago.

I hadn't even thought about this before finding this thread but thanks for the recommendation. I was simply going to use the Scosche Dual USB charger that I've had since last year and used for my DINC and Droid X but upon further inspection, that charger is only rated at 500 mAh which was sufficient for those devices but not ideal for the G Nex

I really do love the functionality and quality of the Schosche so I looked on their website, amazon (where I bought my last 2) and I actually found the best deal on ebay of all places.
Just ordered 2 of these and figured I'd pass the word on in case anyone else needs any.
Schosche reVIVE II Dual 1A

on a side note: I did laugh at the "for iPhone 4G" description. :p

Just realized my jeep has a normal 2 prong plugin under the console. No reason to buy the dock now as ipurchased an 8gb mp3 player for music (only have 16gb nexus + google music = data rape)

I have an aux 3.5mm for my mp3 player and when i need turn by turn gps illl just plug the phone into that and charge with home charger.

With all the money saved I think I shall order a few cases...anyone know if theres an extended battery for gsm? Bells selling the normal battery for like 54.99 and that also seems like rape.

This may be a dumb question, but does it matter what USB cord you plug into the charger? I have a bunch of old USB cords (Original Moto Droid, LG Env Touch), will these work the same as the USB cord I received with my Nexus? Or are those of lower specs? If so, what do I need to look for to purchase along with this charger?
