4G down here in the Milwaukee area. 3G still works, I tried to toggle between 3G and 4G and it took 2 minutes to pick up the signal. It usually take less then 20 seconds......
What if VZW didn't get paid by us? OMG! No money, we are going to die!!!
It's not about the outage. It's that we pay a lot of money to these people every month. If I provided terrible service like this, I'd have no customers.
Mine tried this three times. WHAT is this, if we're not supposed to dial 228, why would the phone automatically try this? This all happened when I switched from CDMA only to LTE/CDMA, I was unaware of the 4G outage up until this...
I picked my phone up and heard music playing, that *22899 number was being dialed. Im on 2 bars of 3g. 4g sucks on this phone we i do get it. What a great time upgrade, eh? Hopefully vzw can do something for us? I was going to return my gnex in for a rezound tosay going to wait now.
I thought my phone was screwing up today but i lost 4g all day, now i know. I would havw 4g then a sec later id get 3g.
My phone just autodialed *22899, and played music for a bit while updating. The call seemed to complete.
After it dialed, the "T-CDMA-64" network type that my ROM was showing on the lock screen was changed to "Verizon Wireless". And I think the PRL number has changed at some point; it's now 52642. I now don't see any 4G network here from home right now, whereas I've always had 4G before from the house.
Edit: 4G seems to be back now. It seems to have taken 5+ minutes after the update before it was back on 4G (with two bars).
I've been on CDMA since running 3G. Once I change to CDMA/LTE it will catch 3G signal and drop after 10 minutes. So I'm just staying on 3G until I hear something different.
personally I think they should refund everyone on a data package for the time it is down, may not be much to one person's bill but figure their entire network and the amount of people that utilize it and that adds up quick

Ditto -- total fail on both 3G and 4G for me in NE Ohio at the same time today. Yet my wife's 3G was fine on her non-4G phone. I restarted, turned network on and off, removed battery, changed battery, removed/replaced SIM card, attempted to force 3G, etc. No go. Definitely felt like a 4G network outage with poor hand-off to 3G.
Reminds me of the old BlackBerry days when BIS would go down and BlackBerry owners were all left without data and email while normal smartphone users were unaffected.
