Wow 30 hours battery life

Wow. Didn't want to put the screen at 50% but I tried it. And switching between 3g and wifi on. 30 hours believe it or not. Hate to have this screen at 50% percent though. Shizer

I just keep the phone on Auto brightness. People say it keeps it too dim, but I think it works fine. It only makes shades of white/grey look grainy.

Your post is useless without a screenshot though

. I'll bet it wasn't even awake 1/3 of that time.

That is great. Must be what I would call light usage. The screen at 50% is awesome on my GN. 100% is too bright. About 20% nice for browsing at night :cool:

all depends on screen time.

im at 84% with 7 hours 10 minutes.

Thats because I have only had the screen on 48 minutes. 4 - 5 hours screen time max.

I'm at the point where a normal day of usage on the job runs the battery down only 50%.

Seems there's some kind of problem with how the OS reports battery life? Basically it goes from 100%-40% very quickly, and then the drain gets slower. I suspect this is because the % is based on voltage, and if this voltage dips even slightly the OS will report a lower %. But in reality there's still juice left.

I was at 10 hours @ 16% on Monday, and then the phone went on for 4 more hours (on standby, though, didnt use it much). At around midnight I had 5% left. Tues night I forgot to charge it at like 40 or 50% and it lasted all night without a problem.

Further "confirming" my suspicions (potentially...) is the fact that the phone charges up to 100% in almost no time.

Could be just me, but I feel like there is some serious reporting bug here.

*All of this is with 3G only, wifi sometimes, auto brightness, and standard battery.

Just got my extended battery so the tomfoolery will begin anew.

I'm the same....typical day....I unplugged it in the morning and it went 30 hours before needing a charge at 15%. I can live with that.

That's with 4G turned off because I barely get it in my area anyways.

That is with 7-8 hours of screen on time and i think i was sleeping 13 total hours

I would rather have full brightness and all desirable actions operating to their maximal degree... Irregardless if I'm poor as hell. night n day effect. (but vz had the double data plan, so it won't be hard to stay below 4g, hopefully...

I see a very little spike towards the end (in the red) like you charged it for a minute, but theres not even a blip in the charging section below. I had that happen the other day. I didntbhave it anywhere near a charger, however, when I looked at the chart later it seemed tobindicate battery jumped by like 2% then continued discharging. Definitely some funny business going on with the battery reporting.

My GN also has poor batt life similar to the others and my scenerio is auto bright 4G(that's why I bought it) and of course most of the usage is the display.

So, why is it we get comfortable adapting to poorer performance with a high end product that is the newest device at higher pricing???

I know I bought it and enjoy the GN so far, but I despise the fact that it's the "latest and greatest phone...so far" and at the top of the price range yet I find myself throttling the device down to accommodate what my older 3G Droid X was performing with better batt life.

I'm glad to see some with good/great batt life but why is this even an item that is continuing with later, advance device that we all know require a given power requirement for the intent of the device?

So, do we think the batt life is false and will be more accurate soon or it this really the best option to throttle the device to meet batt needs?

I can get 24+ with minimal, 17hrs moderate, and 12hrs of heavy use.

Just be cause my amp goes to 11, the particular music I play at any given moment may not always call for it to be set to 11.

Battery tech is behind comm tech right now. End of story. I'm in the process of learning what impacts my battery life the most. Then, when I know I'm going to be away from a charger for a long time, I can behave accordingly. C'est la vie at this point in mobile device history; just love the fact that you can throttle it up when you need it, eh?

General rule of thumb: wifi when possible, dim screen when bright is not needed, 3G for general use, background syncing set to a minimum, on the charger when I'm at my desk for a relatively long time, minimal fondling of the shiny object. All day long.

Sounds reasonable. The problem is that everyone's minimal, moderate, and heavy is different.

I wish there was the ability to tune the auto brightness. Like set it at 50% for a given amount of ambient light and then let it auto-adjust from there.

While I doubt that there's gonna be any sort of custom auto-brightness any time soon, people using roms with android 4.0.3 are saying that the auto-brightness works much better.

So people who like it as it is now, tough luck

i can go 3 days without charging with my normal during the work week usage. Not much use during the week when you sit in front of a computer all day. I also cut the phone off while i sleep. Maybe 5 hours a screen time if i really push it. GSM version on att
