Question: Can you still get calls/text messages while line is temporarily suspended?

So can a line still get calls and text messages while it is suspended for non-payment? Someone is claiming that they can still recieve calls and texts, just cant send them out while they're temporarily suspended. I don't personally have a Tmobile account so I don't know for sure.

Always pay my bill so I'm not sure but I think you can call 911 but nothing else works.

I did, its very hard to get to their customer care w/o an account for some reason. I got to sales dept and the guy told me that they can't, but he didn't sound too sure

I have been with T-Mob for over 10 years now..been with them since the Powertel days. In the few times I havent paid on time, YES, I could receive calls for a day or 2 after they shut me down, but NO text messages at all. Hope that helps.

This is incorrect.

My son was disconnected for not paying his $500 bill. He's been disconnected since 1/3/12 and I've talked to him every day since. He can't call out or send text but can receive both.

Wow a whole week. Give them time. They will catch up and completely disconnect him. In the mean time enjoy what they've over looked.

Sorry, but you're wrong. When a TMo account is suspended, the customer can still receive calls for several days. When dialing out, the customer gets routed to the billing dept to pay by phone.

I've been looking through T-Mobile support but can't find an answer to that specific question.

My guess would be yes since your account was suspended, not cancelled but that's just a guess. For a definite answer I would call T-Mobile.

Can never understand why people answer questions with their opinions on forums like these. No one care what you think or what your opinion is or if you pay your cell phone bill on time. Good for you, would you like a lollipop for being so responsible? People take the time out to ask questions because they need a definitive answer to their question or at the very least some input from someone who has been in a similar situation. So I will answer the question with my input because I have been in this situation. See how that works?
Through my experience with T-Mobile when my account has been temp suspended, I have been able to continue to make calls for a few short days as well as txt messages but for whatever reason I was limited as to who I can call or txt as it would work for some family and friends and not others, in other instances my account would remain suspended and I would be able to continue to receive calls txt messages and reply to only certain txt messages but be unable to make an outgoing call. I assumed this was a mistake in tmobiles part I am still unsure as to why I could continue to use my phone or how long it would have went on before all service would be suspended entirely. This is a plus with having T-Mobile, they are not super quick to suspend service entirely as other providers tend to do.

It's not a mistake they give u atleast 2weeks after your phone has been suspended to receive calls and text u can send text just not picture text u can make calls if the person your callin has T-Mobile mobile to mobile or if your in they top 5 and yes u can still get an upgrade if u pay your bill I have plenty of times been with T-Mobile since 04 but it's always easy to get an extension

Well I can say this much.... my metro pcs phone was disconnected 1/8/18 so 10days ago and I haven't received NOT 1 call until today. I looked at my phone and realized I had a missed call from a job I applied at last week. I was confused as to how they could get thru but I clicked the call to return it and ODDLY enough the call went thru and that's when I learned that it was the owner of the place I applied at for a job. after hanging up I immediately dialed my girlfriends phone and my phone said the same thing it always does after non payment "your phone service has been temporarily disconnected" .... so I am baffled as to how this guy was able to call me and how I was able to return only his call?!?!?! weird ass shit

I have tmobile and i owe 275 dollars, my service was suspended on November 2nd and its now the 23rd of 2018 and I CAN RECIEVE CALLS AND CAN TEXT AND RECIEVE TEXTS NO PROBLEM, I JUST CANT CALL ANYONE OR IM ROUTED TO TMOBILE AND I HAVE NO DATA! So yes for some reason or another it is possible!!!! I know they asked in 2011, but i just looked up in google if any others this happen to and this was first link i saw!!! Its really wierd i can send pictures also, i just cant call anyone...

I can receive calls and texts but can not call out, my plan disconnected over 30 days ago, I called the carrier to check what was going on and they confirmed that calls can ring through but I can not call out. They did not say for how long this will continue but I did ask for an extension of time so I won't lose the number, since important call did get through today and I was glad that it did. My carrier was VirginMobileUSA taken over by Boost Mobile.
