Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

A friend of ours had a husband who collected vintage and not so vintage toys. I went down into his basement once and he showed me his lair. The walls were covered with glass covered shelves. He must have had almost a thousand toys. Each display had its own little spotlight.

He also had a giant screen and three video game consoles. He used that basement as his alone/unwinding time almost every day after work for three or four hours at a time.

The marriage did not last very long.

Everyone needs a "cave" and that was his. Many of my "toys" wouldn't fit on a shelf: I still have a 24" Eagle from Space:1999 (yes, it's OLD)! Wish it were still in the box, though:

...And add to that an original Millennium Falcon from the Empire Strikes Back, the one that action figures can fit in, in the box.

I guess I'm sitting on a gold mine and didn't know it!

( Time to take inventory and insure all this stuff :p )

Yep, everyone needs alone time and a cave.

But if I left my wife alone from 6 to 10 pm every night and forbade her from joining me, there's going to be problems!

Well he had it coming to him, then. I would never "forbid" my Darling Bride from joining me in something that she really isn't interested in anyway. No need to :)

So I found out that the $50 living social deal that I got never got processed when I got the phone. I already have 3 cases and an extended battery. Anyone have any ideas what I should spend it on? In store only.
Perhaps the spare battery and charger cable?

So I figured out, what I think, is the best solution (for me) for movie playback. Simply transfer my .mkv files to my "movies" folder. Play using MX Video Player (with arm 7 codec installed from the market). Make sure it's playing on HW mode, and it's great.
My friend let me borrow his video files.
I found MX Video Player, but is there any chance you could link to the codec that you mentioned? What benefits are there to installing the separate codec? Also, any chance you could find out your friend encoded the MKVs? :D

If you go in the market, search under MX player. The arm7 codec will come up and just install and you're good to go.

I think he used handbrake, but not sure. I will ask him though.

Here it is! I'm not sure if the stock ROM is deodexed, though.
Here's a mod that will increase brightness, and make the whites a true white. There is a pretty good screenshot on the OP comparing the stock white of the contacts display with the new and improved white.

[MOD] Auto Brightness Patch & Advanced Power Menu - Update 22.12. for IML74K - xda-developers

If anyone is interested, make sure it's for the right build number (you can find the build number you're on in settings/about phone and look at "build number".

Edit: These only work on stock deodexed roms, not "nightlies". Oh well.

Liked the pics. It's been awhile since I've been there.

I still say that they should have rebuilt them as they were before.

I am torn on the 'build there vs memorialize' debates. While it would have been nice to see them rebuilt I think what they have accomplished is beyond amazing. And it's rare in NYC to have that many people showing complete respect for where they are.
