[Verizon] installed rom how do i get contacts back?

yes as soon as you sign into your google account your contats should syn. Unless you didn't have the bakup/restore boxes checked under "backup & Reset" in settings.

As another method you can also export your contacts to a .vcf file as well. So then you have two ways to restore contacts.

I may be wrong but aren't the backup/restore boxes on initial boot for apps only? I never check the box to restore (I use TiBu) but I always get my contacts back.

You can set contacts to sync in accts by tapping the gmail account and ticking the box there.

Did you make a nandroid backup before you flashed your ROM? If so, make a nandroid of your current setup, flash back to your nandroidbackup, download your contacts from your phone (there should be an option under settings to export them), move it to your computer, log into your gmail account, and import them there. Make sure they are all there, then restore the nandroid of your new ROM.

I dont see the option to export it to my computer. I have my accounts syncwd. I tried titanium backup but when i replace the data on calls and contacts it pops upwith an error and closes

Are you going into the Phone app or the People app? My guess is the phone app. Go into the People app, settings> second option from the top is Import/Export.

he meant Export them. Then plug your phone up to your PC, locate the .vcf file and drag it to your pc. Then when you flash back to your Rom'ed backup drag that .vcf file back to your phone from your pc and then go back into settings and select import and use that .vcf file.

I am having the same problem.. Rooted my phone back in early February, all my contacts sync'd after... Now I flashed "Liquid Smooth" yesterday and all of my contacts are gone. I thought it would just sync up with Gmail automatically, but maybe they were never sync'd in the first place like I thought they were (Galaxy Nexus is my first smartphone, so I'm not sure if my contacts ever sync'd to Gmail)... I've tried to go to contacts/people and sync it up with Gmail, but it's not doing anything.

I did copy my internal storage on my computer (copy/pasta) before I rooted in Feb and I also made a nandroid backup of my phone before I flashed the new rom.

Please help!

I ended up getting my backups through verizon, I had to download the APK for Verizon Backup Assistant and then I couldn't remember my password, and it just ended up let me "retrieve" it, and it was "0000".. How pointless?

I'd still like to know if I was doing something wrong though, and make sure I am backing my contacts to Gmail.

Go to your Gmail account on a PC if you can and then on the left lick the Gmail logo with the down arrow next to it. Click contacts and see if they are all there. If not they may have never been backed up in the first place.

Yep, if you don't have them saved as google contacts they are only on your phone without another backup. When making new contacts always be sure to select your google account you want associated with your contacts.
