Root Is there a way to update MIUI?

Methinks thou protesteth too much!

Who's keeping track? :D

OK. I'm having a problem. When I go into cwm and install the 12.09 zip, it says it installed, but the phone still says it's on 10.21. I've done it several times now with the same result. What gives?

How are you updating? (manually going into CWM, and installing yourself or via Rom Manager?)

Are you positive it's 12.9? When I go to settings... system tab... about phone, mine says 1.12.9

Manually navigating to the downloaded location & selecting it. It runs. It says it was successful, but after rebooting, both ROM manager & about phone report build 10.21. I even deleted the zip from the sd, re-downloaded it & tried again. No change.

I've now restored my stock backup and I will start from square one tomorrow. I have to work tonight. :( I restored my backup because I was having process stopped error messages left and right. I figured I'd go back to a known configuration and move forward from there.

Oh, and I can't get RM to do anything automatically, just push the button and let it go. I always have to do it in CWM myself.

Does anyone else stop breathing when your screen goes black?

I looked away for just a second while it was installing the zip and in that moment, it finished installing and went to reboot. When it blacked, my attention was immediately drawn back to the phone. Waiting....Waiting....Waiting.... for the red M to appear.

Anyway, I'm now on 12.9, but there's a game called Word Farm that won't let me delete it. When I try, I get "unable to remove system application". Is this a joke from the dev? Can I safely remove it with a root tool?

It's not a joke. It's a cool little game if ya need to kill some time while yer waiting for your inheritance to come in...lol.

The reason it's telling you it's a system app is becuase it's installed into the system rather than like any other apk file. You can remove it if you wish. You would just use a root app such as TiBu. Personally I wouldn't remove it. I like it.
