Hi all

I've just upgraded from an iPhone 3G to the Galaxy S2 - so far so good (I am just about letting go of the comfort blanket of knowing how the iphone works!)

WHen I spoke to the customer service person at O2, she assured me that I wouldn't need to lose all my data (apps, contacts etc) when I switched phones and that Samsung would sync with itunes and "convert" the data.

Ok so - is this a pile of poo or can it be done? I am not that fussed about losing apps as I can re-download them on the Samsung directly, but I would rather not lose my contacts (putting my sim in the Samsung seems to bring up a load of old random contacts that I have long since deleted off my iphone?!), texts etc.

Any ideas please?

Thanks!:)

Your iPhone apps will have to be repurchased from the Android market. Easy enough.

Your contacts in iTunes should be moved/imported to your gmail account via any number of methods and once they are in your gmail they will show up on the phone. If they do not show up within 5 minutes then ensure you have sync contacts selected in settings...accounts...sync.

I doubt you can use Itunes. For contacts, you need to sync with something like google and then sync back into the SGS2.

For apps, its totally different OS so you cannot backup and reinstall those into the SGS2. You have to get replacement apps in the market where available.

Doubletwist will sync your iTunes music to your phone. Available in the App Store for the phone and a PC version is available on the web
