Stock calendar. All looks good when I look at the calendar on google/computer.
Phone set to sync with my google calendar and add on calendars.
I have repeating events, add on calendars for sports, holidays, phases of the moon and regular calendar entries.
Set on my phone to sync all of these.
When I open the calendar on the phone it does not show the sports. There are solid colored lines across the top of the calendar with no printing visible. When I click on one it brings up the edit screen for that entry.(the repeating events)
Are all these issues due to a buggy app? Hope to fix in an update? Or do I need to change something on the phone?
Thank you.

I see all of my calendars that I choose to sync. For example, I sync the phases of the moon.

Open the calendar app. Go to menu>Settings, and click your gmail account. Make sure the calendar you want to show up is set to "synced" (check the box).

Then go back to the calendar app, and hit menu>Calendars to Display. Make sure the calendar is checked there as well.

Hope this helps.

When you say "There are solid colored lines across the top of the calendar with no printing visible" are you talking about the month view?

That is how Android lets you know something is going on in the month view. If you want to see the event on the certain day, just tap on the day you would like to see. Furthermore, you can tap at the very top of the app where it says the month (i.e. January 2012) and switch views (Day view, week view, month view, and agenda view).

Thank you. I deleted some of the repeat events in the day view and now I can see the print in those left there. The pinch and zoom may have opened the colored line and shown the print. Too late to try. Just need to figure why the sports calendar is not showing.

Is it a calendar that someone else has created that you added through google calendars? As in, you went to "browse interesting calendars" chose sports and picked your favorite NFL team? If so, those calendars don't seem to sync to phones for some reason. I had the same problem on my OG Droid. I ended up creating my own calendar for sport schedules. I kind of prefer my own anyway since I don't necessarily like the way some places format their schedules. I usually download the schedule from the team website, import it to excel, clean it up and remove crap like radio station broadcast and the address of the stadium, then import it into my calendars.

I don't take credit for figuring this out.

Go to yahoo.com

Go to sports. Pick your team. Go to schedules. Click on your team. There is an option to add this to your calendar. One option is google. Pick this. It will open google screen and you need to sign in. Add this to your calendar. On your phone, resync your calendar. Go onto settings on your calendar and check off new calendars to display and then go to calendars to sync and make sure checked. Now resync calendar. Worked for me.
You can then go back to google calendar and under the other calendar options, click on one of your new calendars (sport team) and there will be a drop down list so you can change the color of the events to match your sports team.
Enjoy.
There are threads as to why The google calendar sports calendar will not sync to your phone.

srfoot, I went to yahoo.com, went to their sports page, there was no obvious way from that page to "pick your team" (Kansas University in my case), but I searched and found my team page another way, I then went to the Scores and Schedule tab for that team but the section for Add Schedule has no option for sending to a google account/calendar. It only shows "Add Schedule: My Y! | Alerts | iCal | .ICS" No Google option...

Can you point me to what links on the team's schedule page that will send the schedule to my google account or calendar?

Edit to add: Does this only work for pro teams? College teams pages do not seem to have the same options...

Thanks --jayhawk

Got only professional sports to work. Hopefully they will allow college soon. Thanks this was a great find!

You can then go back to google calendar and under the other calendar options, click on one of your new calendars (sport team) and there will be a drop down list so you can change the color of the events to match your sports team.
Enjoy.

Where is this "other calenders option" I can't find it for the life of me. I'd like to change the colors like you'd mentioned. Thx

Open your calendar page in google.
On the left side go down to "other calendars".
Click on the down arrow to its right.
Import your ical file to your calendar.
Then under the import tab you just used, open the settings tab to activate your new calendar. You will see it listed there.
Go back to your calendar and on the left side you will see the new calendar listed under other calendars. Highlight the new calendar listing and to its right you will see a down arrow and when clicked on it you will see color options, etc.
If you see your calendar listed but not the down arrow, you might need to close the calendar and then reopen it.
