prime vs ipad2 And why

The reason iOS is so smooth compared to Android is actually something very core to the philosophy of each operating system. iOS assesses GUI rendering as a priority thread. If something is moving on the screen it jumps straight to the front of the queue. Android assesses it as a normal priority and so background tasks still get processed at the same time even when the GUI is moving.

I think iOS is definitely beautiful and I'm still not sure which is the better design philosophy with regards to GUI.

I showed a perfect example of how you can see this to my brother. He has an ipad 2 and while a web page was in the middle of loading I started scrolling up and down and until I stopped scrolling, the page didn't load any more.

My main computer is a Macbook Pro and I'm almost always running OSX so I'm not an Apple hater or anything. Apple's #1 priority is aesthetics and Google's #1 priority is functionality. Everyone has different feelings about these two things so between iProducts and Android devices I would never say one is definitively better than the other.

Sometimes a silky smooth OS animation makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and sometimes you just want to use your free VNC client to remote into your linux server.
