Anybody know how to root with a Mac? Yes, you heard me, the great DJ using a Mac.
Absolutely. I've rooted on both platforms and it's actually easier on a Mac.

If you're using the Android SDK method around here, you can skip the install of any drivers and begin all your ADB commands with "./" (minus the quotes). That's the gist of it, but there is a thread on the XDA forums that lays it out nice and pretty for you as well.

Tried that but there is no widget in the widget drawer associated with the circle battery app.

Just in case anyone had the same issues with the circle battery widget. I made the mistake when i first downloaded the app to click on it before adding a widget. I got the error to go to my widget drawer and place a widget first but i couldn't find any there associated with the app.

Long story short if you don't see widgets in your widget drawer for the app just uninstall and install again and they should be there.

Talk about a duh moment.

Love the deep blacks on this SuperAMOLED screen, and colors of the nexus logo. Trying to keep it simple.

Anyone know what widget/app/background this is? I especially like the bar at the bottom with the Nexus colors.

I linked to the xda thread with the background and icons earlier in this thread. Check back a few pages. You can use Nova Launcher to change the icons at the bottom.

If you can't find them or they're no longer there, I can post them sometime this weekend.

Is this after I've rooted it? I can't find Nova Launcher anywhere. I just got an Android and I don't even know where to start, what to do, the main apps/widgets I should get. If you have any tips on the basic things I should do right away with my new Android, feel free to PM me, I'd love to hear it.

Nova thread is here: [APP] Nova Launcher Beta (ICS based) - xda-developers Read the entire first post, links are at the bottom. You don't have to be rooted to use it, but if you're not rooted, it changes it a bit. Your widgets are accessed only via long-pressing your homescreen, you can't get them in the app drawer like the default on the Nexus.

Do you want to root it? If you do, you should at least unlock the bootloader as soon as you can, because it will wipe everything off your phone, pics, music, everything.

Welcome to Android and to the forums, the people here are probably the most helpful folks I've ever encountered on the internet. Most of them anyway ;-)

Thanks. :)

What exactly do I gain from rooting it? If it's worth it, I'd like to do it ASAP, if you have a thread for it.

This is me for now. As always, its a work in progress. But until I decide to root, this is probably how she will remain. Simple, clean, functional.

-Simple Text for app icons
-Simple Calendar Widget/ Clock widget
-Circle Battery Widget
-Don't have a link for the wallpaper but I remember I found it by simply Googling "simple dark background" or something to that effect.
