I use bettercut, but very slowly. When I choose an 'Activity' for the icon, I just hit home, and go check my e-mail or something (to kill time).

It takes 10 minutes to make 4 icons (that's if you know what icon's you're using).

Worth it when you're done though. You can uninstall Better Cut, and the icon packs completely, and the icons stay put. Worth it if you want your desktop to be prettier. My background matches my icons in colors (dark blue/black all around)

I created a shortcut to my battery information using Bettercut. I know if I download and icon pack, I can change the icon. Is there a quick way to view icon packs other than downloading them, looking at the gallery and then uninstalling if you don't like the set?

Anyone have a recommendation for a nice battery icon? I don't mean a widget - just an icon I can use with my new shortcut.

Thanks!

How do i make my own Icons using Better cut. I just bought it..

Are you trying to make actual icons, or replace the icons on your screen?

You will need a photo editing program to make the icons. I created them with Photoshop, but GIMP is free and will work as well. I made my icons 140px x 140px and saved them as .png files. I created a folder on my phone called icons, and moved the ones I wanted there.

To use the icons from the home screen, click + > Shortcut > Better Cut > Activity (now it will take some time to open all the activities. Once your ont the Activities screen, selet the app you want to create a shortcut for. On the next screen you can change the name that goes below the icon and change the icon. Selete Change Icon > Pick Picture > Icons (or what ever you called the folder holding the icon files. Then select the icon you want to use.

No - I don't want to make my own icons. I noticed in the market that you can download icon packs, but it's hard to tell which pack has icons that I like. Just thought if anyone else had found a nice icon for the battery, it could save me from downloading, then later uninstalling icon packs that I don't like.

I did this Shortcut > Better Cut > Activity and now I have a default icon on the screen for the activity that I chose (Battery Information). I thought it would be nice if it was a battery looking sort of icon rather than the default, which is the same as the Settings shortcut icon.

oh ok.. yea i just wanna change the name and icon thats all .. thank i have the pics.. but i just didnt know how to get the icon to change and the name.. But do the icons have to be on the home screen(s) or can they be on the menu ..

You can only change the icons of shortcuts ... so they need to be on the homes creen, not in the app drawer.

That would be wonderful! Anytime is fine. Yes - I just want it to look like a battery. Blue, green or purple would be nice :) Many of the battery widgets you can download have cute little battery shaped icons, but I don't need a widget now that I have my new shortcut.

Thank you!
