I can't win. I was going to download Wug's one click and the public links have been temporarily disabled. I'm hoping by Sunday night they're back.
Wait, are you not rooted yet BB?

Interesting! Which part gave you the option to move the time to the middle of the top bar? Also, I haven't heard of qHD Stock Animation, is that for bootup? Lastly, I tried WatchESPN a couple weeks ago and it wasn't working - does it work for you now?

Good Morning Gnexers!

I know I'm off topic again but it IS the Lounge, so:

For those of you lucky enough to have backed Capta as a Kickstarter start-up project, it's good to see that prototypes are back and production is ready! Backers should have our Captas in hand in a matter of a couple of weeks, while retail sales will come later.

For those of you not familiar with this infinitely versatile little gadget, here it is:

Capta: Stick it, Lean it, Wrap it, Attach it. by UDS (Unique Design Solutions) — Kickstarter

It will retail for $34.99 SHIPPED to the U.S. and well worth the money, as it's designed to work with virtually ANY smartphone and will last forever! :D

Wait, are you not rooted yet BB?

Nope. I was originally waiting to make sure I didn't have a lemon. Then once I knew my Nyxie was ok I was going to wait to watch Episode 5 and be taught how to unlock through the sdk the long way. But we haven't been able to find time to do it. Sooooooo, when I found out the other night there was a toolkit that looks fairly idiot proof I got very excited.
Now as long as nothing goes awry today I will be making all my regular back ups and pulling everything off the phone tonight to root this baby.

And Good Morning my Nexling friends!

Stumbled on this today when lurking the forums...It is the first one I have seen since the release of the phone, which is way too long! Dude's post is like broken english, but it can't be too hard. Backing up now then flashing.

EDIT: Just tried on Mike's Revolution HD and neither of them worked. I tried just the LatinIME and nothing changed, then tried the LatinIMEGoogle and it got rid of my keyboard altogether. Flash with caution, obviously backup before flashing!

Just flashed on Gummy and it works great. The easiest way to tell which of the two you need is to look in your /system/app folder to see which one is pre-installed.

I'm still getting a "webpage not found" error when trying to use the app, but the site works via the browser. It's not as nice an interface on a phone via the browser, but when I need my sports fix away from a TV/computer, it is better than nothing!

Yeah I had the LatinIMEGoogle preinstalled and flashed the correct one in CWR, but it just gets rid of the keyboard altogether for some reason.

Here's an easy way to do it without breaking it...

1 - download the version you need and extract it.
2 - copy the app and go to /system/app and rename the original to .bak
3 - paste the new one and change permissions to rw-r-r
4 - go to settings and choose the google us keyboard and your done.. no rebooting needed.

Use Root explorer or similar for easiest results.

Edit - I honestly don't care for it much... its a little awkward looking. The white is too white and it screws with your eyes lol

Yeah I just tried that and the same thing happened. It just gets rid of the keyboard altogether...

Did you go back into settings and put it back as the google us keyboard?

What rom are you on

After putting the new keyboard in, I went back into settings and there was no keyboard to choose other than the voice input and any other 3rd party keyboard I have on there. Running Revolution HD.

I flashed this one:

Black & Cyan Theme for Multi Roms Now! (Themed Soft Keys And More)1/8/12 - RootzWiki

I'm running AOKP build 14 and it works flawlessly. Nice black keyboard with ICS blue numbers on top.
Alright, Ill try this one see what happens. Thanks.

I got my GNex on the 4th, I'm now looking through the forums for the "Unlock and Root my GNex for Dummies".

I love the video chat and being able to use either camera at will. I also noticed that the ringtone and notices alarms and while watching videos are rather soft, but the speaker on a phone call is rather loud. I tried to DL Volume+ from the website, but my phone wouldn't let me open and install the app because it wasn't from the Market. There must be a way around that.

Well back to page 23 of this thread. Lots to get caught up on.

You have to go into your settings and enable the check box to allow third party non market apps.
I'll let you know tonight (I hope) if Wug's toolkit is the Root for dummies I am hoping for. :D

I just want the security of knowing at least one of the rooted gurus is gonna be around tonight ......

You guessed right. You need to go into Settings/Security and check the box for Unknown Sources. This will let you sideload APKs as well as install apps rom other markets like Amazon and GetJar.

Ryu'd again!
