Help Handcent issues in ICS?

I received a text from my sister but handcent told me by the sound, the icon, and the background pic that it was from someone else.

If it happens you can force close handcent and it goes back to normal.

Maybe someone can help.

I have silenced ALL my notifications, system, handsent, messaging. But I STILL get a sound notification upon receiving a text. And it's not even a sound that has ever been selected...for anything! Please help!

I used Handcent on my last two phones and loved it. Once I got the Gnex and ran into problems with it, I went back to using the stock messaging app. I don't mind it, but I really missed the popup notifications. SMS Popup took care of that.

i tried SMS Popup, but it doesn't turn on the LED notification...

I'm using Light Flow so that I can get LED notification for charging. I also set specific colors for other notifications including messages. I'm not having any problems.

Are you by chance using LightFlow? I had a phantom notification sound coming from there, even with everything turned off. I uninstalled and reinstalled and that fixed it.

Is somebody going to address these problems with Handcent or Go SMS?

I'll pay anything for something that works over the darn stock sms. Somebody please help the Gnex crowd out!!!!

What are the outstanding issues with handcent?

Since the update it works fine with only one issue for me, some of my contacts don't show. Easy work around and most of my contacts stay in the conversation listing anyway.

The lower portion of the popup screen is still being covered by the keyboard.

If I send a text to a friend their reply comes back under one of my other contacts name. If you don't know the context of the conversation you may think you are talking to somebody else. VERY DANGEROUS!!!!

wow. that would be a deal breaker for me. how does the stock messaging app show the conversation? have you checked that the contacts aren't somehow linked or a number isn't shared under their contact info? i'll see a google notifcation to link contact names that they think are similar, always ignore it though.

unfortunately it doesn't look like there's an easy way to find if you have two contacts that are 'joined' just by looking at the names in the people app.

to check if a contact is joined to more than one entry you can edit the contact, select the menu button and then look if there is an option to 'separate'. it would then break out the joined contact info. otherwise you could review the contact info for each of the users you're getting conflicting messages for and make sure there is no similar info in their contact entries. only way i know how to check..

I've had this interesting Handcent bug (or "undocumented feature

) ever since Launch Day, December 15th 2011. I just never bothered to mention it, but it's really been bothering me lately.

Whenever I get a text while the phone is in standby, I - of course - get the blue light. Not the problem. Problem is the pop-up window.

When I hit the power button to turn on the screen, there's the pop-up window with the text message in it. Not the problem. I read the text (or try to reply), and the phone goes to the pattern unlock screen as expected.

Problem is: the dots aren't there! It's just a black screen! Thankfully I can draw the pattern from memory without the dots... but it sure would be nice to have them. And at least know what I'm supposed to do with a perfectly blank screen.

Do you have this issue as well - or is it just my Nexus? Is this a Handcent bug or an ICS bug? Not sure who to complain to in order to get it resolved.

full customization of the way the SMS MMS looks on the phone. I have mine set up to look exactly like a HOLO theme so it matches the rest of the device.

It's odd to see everyone has different issues with Handcent, on the same phone. My issue isn't really a big deal, just an annoyance. Whenever I try to respond to a text via the pop up window, I get the Nexus lag we've all encountered. I do not get the lag when sending a text inside the app, typing on the browser, etc. I ONLY get the lag when typing on the Handcent pop up window. Has anyone else noticed this?
