Geniatech Enjoy TV

First impressions (after doing the SP1 & Market updates) and a couple of hours tinkering :
1) Market - New app only shows a very limited selection (The same as the original market app?) I've managed to install a few apps from backups taken on my phone.
2) iPlayer - Won't play from web site and app seems to hang (Not tried the ITV one yet)
3) YouTube - App crashes but videos play in browser
4) Calendar -Any way of getting that to sync with my Google Calendar?

Second impressions (after upating) :
1) Market - Now fully working
2) iPlayer - Won't play from web site or app but I CAN get live BBC News in the BBC News app (ITV Player not on the market so still not tried)
3) YouTube - Works fine now
4) Calendar -Still not found a way to sync with my Google Calendar? The only sync option on the Google account is Picasa
Overall very pleased with the box

Just tried uninstalling flashplayer 10.2 (after backing it up just in case) and installing the new version (11) from the market. Surprisingly I've now managed to get BBC iplayer working albeit slightly jerkily - I think that's more down to my broadband speed but will check it at different tmes of day. I have not been able to download ITV player (which states that the geniatech m3 board is incompatible!) but I'm still working on it. Other flash applications seem to be fine.

Awww! I hope they do decide to provide the upgrade. "Not yet decided" does sound a bit like marketing speak for "we have decided not to give it but don't want to let you all down yet" :(

i just bought the atv 1000 and from what i know this product was released in september after 5-6 months they dont give any future firmware upgrade?

New update!
http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/Androidtvbox/update20120111.zip

Don't know what's the difference , not installed yet.
Tomorrow I'll try.

Mirror to firmware.

and what does he mean by "oh, the old stuff... we did not decide yet"?? they should provide "support/updates" for at least 2 years, not just update for the box and then move on with new box and forget about old. they sold plenty old boxes, they not gonna sell as many new boxes. hope they care about the people who bought the box, and not only about who will buy the box(

Might give this a try. I tried iPlayer on Dolphin Browser last night but no luck. I know this worked on an old phone even though I didn't have Flash.

EDIT : Tried it and I get jerky video too so probably not the broadband as I normally have about a 7meg connection and the box (on wifi) is right next to the router.

EDIT 2 : Set the video quality to the lowest level in the iPlayer app and it's not as jerky. Watchable but not ideal

Hi all,

I have updated to 20120111.163332 and all seems fine so far. Can stream flash and You Tube no problems.

A few new apps that are cool as mentioned previously and I like the inclusion of adobe reader.

I did the manual update 20120111.292744, it downloaded, rebooted and seems to install but it doesn't. Once fully loaded the software is still 20120111.163332 than after a few minutes it gives you an option to download 20120111.292744 again. weird.

Has anyone got the 20120111.292744 to install and run?

On a slightly different note is there an idiots guide to copying your apps from mobilephone to the box?

And finally thanks to stasik I have now got my box to stream movies over my network :)

I managed to downoad ITV player from the web onto an SD card and installed it using the Appinstaller. You also need Adobe Air from Android market and ITV player then works but at very low quality (probably OK on a mobile phone but on a 46" TV not so!!). Not had a chance to review the BBC iplayer any further yet.
