Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Has anyone heard of a way to change the direction of the swipe to unlock so you swipe right to left to unlock?
I see there are some custom ROMs that offer different styles of the ICS unlock interface which might allow that level of customization.

Of course, a guaranteed option is to install WidgetLocker Lockscreen which offers a fully cusomizable ICS-like lock. I have it set up to unlock to right, silence to left (similar to GB) and camera up.

NCTurner: What happened with your phone, did a new SIM help? I am still waiting for my new SIM, it is sitting at FedEx in Greensboro, should be down here tomorrow.
Thanks!

They swapped it at the store on Friday, and I made a lot of calls on Friday afterwards-seems to work great! It was the same type of Sim card I already had but I figured I would try it anyway since that was the only type they had. Hopefully yours will take care of your problem.

Glad it worked for you! I will post how it works out once I get it.

Just tried widget locker and it worked great for changing the direction of the swipe to unlock. That was when I realized I really need a swipe from down to up to unlock if I really want a one handed unlock option. Widget lock won't do that. Bummer. Thanks anyway. It was worth a try.

Yes it will. You have to play with it a lot but widget locker can do just about anything you want. Go to the xda thread about it (there's a link from within the lock choice menu).

Yes ma'am. I actually laughed because the rom, theme and keyboard all had "(4)" after the name of the downloads because of how many times I have redownloaded them. Thanks for the suggestion though. I am willing to try anything, but I honestly think it just isn't possible for this to happen...
Did you ever get the keyboard to work? I downloaded the white letters and cyan numbers one and dropped the apk into my system/apps folder and got just the speaker too. I nearly panicked but then thought to reboot before I started crying. All was well. Whew! I flashed the rest of the cyan theme afterwards. Nice! Running CND 1.1.1 now but with transparent status bar and I really love it.

There was some conversation in the past about screen protectors. Originally, I bought the Steinheil oleo-phobics and like everything about them except that they did not completely cover the screen but left about an eighth of an inch reveal all the way around (something to do with the curved glass). After a couple of weeks, one of the edges started to get a little "rough" and then it became something that bugged me. I put a new one on and in about two weeks, the same thing started happening again. So, I did a little more research and decided to try the Steinheil Flex. I was a little wary because a lot of the reviews talked negative about Wet applications. I have to tell you, this thing went on like a breeze, no dust, no air bubbles, perfect fit. It seems to have a similar characteristic to the Oleophobic one in that it does not show fingerprints. There is no drag on the screen when you swipe and only slight orange peel when the light hits it just right (that may dissipate over the next few days). So far I am very pleased and impressed and would encourage anyone else hesitating about the wet application to not let this hold them back from this great screen protector.

Quick question:
I was a complete SwiftKey fanboy but have loved using the stock ICS keyboard.
Has anyone else ditched SK for stock or am I just crazy? The one thing I love about stock is the keys are larger. If someone could combine the size of the stock keyboard with the prediction of SK, I'd be all over it.
Thoughts?

I did the same thing -- big SwiftKey fan, but after I got the Nexus I stayed with the stock keyboard, at least for the first month. I was really impressed with its predictions and how well it handles sloppy typing.

But the other day I reinstalled SwiftKey and realized how much I missed its ability to predict the next word even before you start typing it. At the moment I'm back with SwiftKey, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

The only thing I really miss about swiftkey is the swipe to erase

i liked the prediction of SK too - that spacebar drove me nuts so i had to ditch it. i haven't wanted to go back since. i think my only gripe is lack of prediction (or at least the option) w the stock kb. i have noticed a slight lag, but it hasn't bothered me, nor affected my typing.

so to answer your question - no you're not crazy :D ... or at least you're not the only one.
