My battery is draining at an alarming rate. I am recharging it 6 or 7 times a day now. My Wifi is always off unless I'm actually using it along with the data. I've done everything I have read about to increase the life, but nothing is working. Also, this problem started when I got rid of the constant restart issue.
A good example of what's Goin on is this morning. I've been on it for about 40 minutes on this site and just average surfing the web. Yet, I've gone from 100% to 64%.
Any thoughts?

How is the signal where you are? I find that even with good signal, mine drains fairly quickly when using the internet constantly (I get about the same drainage when using Facebook Messenger, for instance). However, when on standby or during light 'net usage, it seems to do okay..

On the screen that shows your battery usage when you click on "cell standby" (which you stated was used the most of all the categories) What is the % of time without a signal? You also mentioned that you did not have WIFI on. How about Bluetooth? from experience that can really suck the life out of the battery. My battery drained as quick as you say when that was on. Also might want to check under Application settings >manage applications and see what is Running.

This is how it currently looks:
Android System 37%
Cell Standby 34% w/97% time without signal
Display 19%
Voice Calls 6%
Opera Mini 3%

I use bluetooth about 5 mins a month, so it's really not an issue. I also talk very little, maybe about 150 mins a month, but use Internet an awful lot. Currently, there are 22 apps running, but nothing out of the ordinary (swift x keyboard, stock task manager, dolphin browser) things like that.

Also, my battery temp is currently 107, but has been as high as 113.

Wow is that a normal temperature for everyday use on your Warp?

My phone is running at 84.2 right now. The highest I ever observed was 105.9 when I was playing that Gladiator game and it dropped me out. But even then it was down to low 90's in like a minute.

I know you said that this only happened after the changes but 97% without a signal will drain you down fast. I have 37% time without signal and went from 100% down to 80% in about an hour and a half. As comparison at 7% time without signal in an hour and a half it went from 100% to 94%.

Still having to fully recharge your phone 6 times in one day coupled with the high heat makes me think something is wrong with the hardware and/or battery.

Not that this helps you but I have had very few problems with my phone. I also know 5 other people with it and they have had less problems with it than me. I can't speak for your experience but your phone does not fit in with the parameters I have seen in the sample size around me. I would say you got a defective phone. With that being said there is a new phone coming out for Boost at the end of the month that looks pretty cool for whatever that is worth.

The threads on this site beg to differ. I won't even mention the people around me having the same reboot issues. No, this model has issues. As for the new LG coming out, I think I'm just gonna upgrade my DROID X on Verizon and not expect anything from this one. I only got it because of I am a low talk - high data user, and Boosts unlimited plan works for me.

I have to agree with shunter7 and i feel your anger. And i hope i dont jinx myself here but i purchased 2 warps one for my self a heavy data user and one for my 17 year old who never puts it down and has a ton of apps going, and never have had a single problem yet not even a lock up on ether phone, now grant it its only been 3 weeks since we have had them but i truly believe these phones well exceed there low price tag for what they pack.I would definitely say your phone is defected and send it back.

No anger here. For me, it's simple. ZTE just won't be getting any more of my business, that's all.
But in the meantime, my phone still has battery drain/heat problem regardless of anyone else's situation.

example: 49 minutes on this charge, and I have gone from 92% to 77%.

Call me stupid for asking but why haven't you contacted ZTE for an RMA and sent it in for them to diagnose/repair?

Since you're a low minute high data user why don't you try virgin mobile and their phones? They are unlimited data but low minutes like 300 a month or something but their monthly rate is lower than boost's. I don't know if any of their phones are any good though.

I was having the same problem with my phone, the battery seemed to drain real quick. I had an app killer that I eventually got rid of. That seemed to help for a little while. A few days ago I noticed it happenening again, so I checked what was using up the battery and it was the android system, usually up over 50 %. So I went into settings> accounts & sync and turned off the auto-sync and background data, then turned the phone off then back on and the battery will last alot longer. My wi-fi is off and so is bluetooth. Turning the background data off is a bit of a pain as you usually have to turn it on to get into the market, then remember to turn it off when your done.

Really not trying to convince you about this phone, I believe that your mind is made up and that is cool. You should go with the phone you like. But I really beleive that you have a hardware issue. I think your phone is faulty and needs to be replaced. As stated my phone is not acting the way yours does nor do the five people I personally know that have this phone. You mentioned that there are many problems with this phone but I would like to point out two things. 1. If you go and look at any phone on this website you will see just as many problems if not more with a majority of the phones out there. 2. These sites attract people that have problems with their phones or who want to learn more about their phones. So by nature you get the minority insight on this board.(i.e techies and their phones, and the defective phones and their unfortunate owners). Case in point out of the 50 people working at my company (which is a tech company) most of which have Android or I-phones I am the only one that has rooted his phone. My point is that there will be a higher concentration of problems listed on this site than what would normally be seen. Thousands and thousands of these phones have been sold and only about 20 (if that much) people have complained about their phones having problems like yours. Most complaints for this phone have been inconveniences that need to be addressed but are not serious. Serious issues like yours are a very low %. Does not make your issues any less real but also does not mean that the phone as a whole needs to be written off when so many people are not having issues. If the Warp was in general as bad as the phone you received then we would see hundred and hundreds if not thousands of complaints about your issues. Instead we get maybe a hundred or so complaints about the phone shutting down or rebooting every so often. Not fun but not earth shattering or really odd when it comes to Android phones.

I am not so sure this is a hardware issue. 97% time without signal will drain a battery in any phone faster than any app ever created. When a phone is searching for signal it uses all of its resources to do so, because after all it is a phone and needs signal before it can accomplish its primary function. It sounds like you live and work in a poor signal area. In which case switching to a non Sprint carrier would be a good option. Another good option would be to try changing the PRL and see if you can find one that gets better signal in your area. Woodstock77 created a great thread on this topic last week. The process can be done without being rooted I believe. You can find your MSL using alogcat from the market and CDMA workshop can be downladed from just about anywhere now days for free. Just an option that would be worth testing before you ditch a $200 phone. PM me if you want to sell cheap. :)

PS. Love the avtar. Thudercats are awesome!!
