Acer tech support's official reply to my query about upgrading the A500 to ICS is that they have "no information".

I see XDA blacked out today in protest of SOPA-PIPA. They are staying that way until they get 5,000 pledge "signatures" to contact one's legislators and politely protest the bills. So if you have a moment, how about heading on over to XDA and upping the count? They only accept one signature for each IP address, and they are filtering out duplicates.

Looks like Wikipedia followed suite with their promise to do the same. Personally, I prefer the way Google did it. By totally blocking access, these sites are also inconveniencing those of us who already know about those issues.

I've been thinking about having a look at it. Aside from XDA, where could one acquire that ROM at the current time?

I do respect the work Thor is doing. That being said there is a reason he did not release his sources and Xda closed his thread do to lack of GPL compliance. Kind of like when m-deejay didn't post his sources on the Hd2 which sucked but people said the reason he did not release was because he was up to no good i.e. stealing info and using malicious code and that is why he wouldn't release it. Not saying that is what Thor is up to or M-deejay...just giving you a heads up so be careful.

Oops. Looks like I opened a can of worms. Aside from my reference to avoiding XDA (intended only because they are blacked out today for the SOPA protest) I did not know anything at all about the remainder of the information you just provided. It was not my intention to determine Thor's sources. I just wondered if the ROM was mirrored elsewhere. I guess I'll pass then.
