Next ota release date?

I just got my new Razr last night and I have version 2.3.5 and system version 6.11.744..xt912.verizon.en.US. When I got up the phone had downloaded 6.11.748.en.US. I haven't installed it yet, but saw this thread and thought I would let y'all know.

Mine did the same thing last week, 6.11.748..I am looking for 2.36 version..:D

I installed it via Droidrzr.com, not xda.

Installing 6.12.173.xt912 - DroidRzr.com

It is a good functionality upgrade, and many are reporting it fixes the prior OTA "fix" for 3g/4g. Check the other forum for more details.

EDIT: The link to that OTA points to the old OTA. Posted there asking to
have it fixed
- wrong

Gentlemen, I have only had this installed for over 4 hours, but I think it might have fixed the suspend bug. I have been using System PAnel to monitor the system and previously on 73.30 and 651.150 suspend used to be at around 40-50% of battery use. Now it has not gone over 3%!!!

Not to burst your bubble, but I never had suspend as more than 3%, for any version. I hope this version fixed it, but the fact that it seems individual phone dependent means it is even more wily.

3% is great. Mine used to be like that before 651.150 and after it was 40%. Now iti s back to 3% and that means I am happy. The update must have done something as I have not changed anything else on the phone.

Waiting patiently...so maybe we will get 3.6 in the next week or so, then ICS sometime in late February?

Yes, very possibly. I also think ICS will come in late February because right now and i don't know if people know this but ICS update for the Motorola Xoom has started rolling out and we all know after Xoom gets ICS it's going to be the Razr as confirmed by Motorola themselves. So if it's already started rolling out for the Xoom it can't be long before the Razr gets updated! Oh, happy days! :D

I ran it for a week on the Nexus also, *I* thought it only looked somewhat different. But that could be because I spend a lot of time on a tablet with Honeycomb, which has a lot in common, visually, with ICS.

Which is NOT to say I'm not looking forward to having it on the Razr. :)

I agree 2.3.6 is by far the best yet..data still drops for me,but not nearly as often as before, and it picks it right back up shortly after dropping..The only negative I see (and it doesnt affect me) is those who used smart actions to kill there data...the new version removed that option, now it just stops background syncing as an option..I could never use it reliably,I mean it really helped battery life having data off with screen off, however best case took 30 seconds to restore data when i turned the screen on,and usually it took over a minute,or wouldnt get data at all....so i never could use it anyway...some people claimed to love that feature..its gone...apparently Moto seen it wasnt picking up data fast enough and pulled it ..

+1 on the 2.3.6, and the best thing is UNLIKE the bionic it has been confirmed you can Fastboot back to stock without risk of getting lost off the OTA path.

I currently also run setcpu to a screen off profile of 300 min/max, I also use juice defender on balanced. Battery seems good, getting 20+ hours before it hits 20%

I know the 2.3.6 is reported to help in general but the fact data connection is faster and more stable makes using juice defender on this phone bearable.

I recommend everyone to step up to 2.3.6, it does not require root and you can always flash back and install the newest OTA.

BTW, I remember seeing posts off and on about android OS using most the juice, I have seen it substantially lower than 2.3.5

They also said they would unlock our bootloaders by the end of 2011.

A long time ago I gave up believing what 'they' say. It happens when it happens, and that's all we know for sure.
And we'll never know why any projected dates were missed - so you pick the story you like the most and you go with it. :)

And yet I check everyday like a kid a Christmas...waiting....waiting.....
