Just Ordered Matte Back Black Rev. 3 TPU Case & SP

Does anyone know if the SP is the same as the one that came with the rev 1 diztronic case?

I saw that someone said the other day that the screen protector that comes with it covers the entire screen, but the earlier one that I have leaves several millimeters all the way around, even with the case on.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the newer ones were getting cut larger

I should get mine today or Monday. I'm kinda hoping it protects the power button slightly. I've found my phone has been turning on in my pocket and draining the battery. Wonder how many others are having this happen and not realizing it.

The power button is pretty well protected, so I don't believe that you will have a problem.

You were right as rain about that, my problem has been solved. I was also impressed how little it impacted the overall size feel of the phone. Having gone naked since day 1, I noticed it mostly in the thickness factor and even that is negligible. Very little difference in length and width feel. Cutouts are ideal and to echo what others have said, it works great with the ext battery. HIGHLY recommend.

I had the first one in grey and I liked everything except when I put it in my phone holder in my car it messed with the volume and my volume was a little messed up even when just handling it . I liked that it fit the extended battery but I went to cut out the volume buttons I messed up the case and had to toss it away I'm using a Casemate Barely there with the standard battery now but I just ordered another Diztronics Matte Black Rev3 I'll be more then likely switching back to that when it arrives

The screen protector that came with the Rev 1 was actually very good for a free screen protector , easily to install, can barely tell it's on , it does get dirty pretty easily but for the most part it's a good protector . It does leave a little bit exposed on the sides but I don't mind since it makes it much easier to install and I'm so bad at installing these to begin with (main reason why I never buy the expensive ones , I'd just mess up the install)

How is the diztronic when it comes to getting it out of your pocket? I've had older 'silicone style' cases before and they always seemed to get hung up in my pocket making it difficult to get out. I've probably dropped more devices with a silicone case then naked ones because of them snagging on the way out of my pocket.

The back of the diz case is not like most silicon cases; it is a matte finish and slides pretty easily in and out of your pocket. Some have complained that it is not tacky enough - though I completely disagree.

@ChiTown - I had the revision 2 and had volume down problems. With the slightest bit of pressure, it would activate the down button. This would happen frequently in my pocket and I was missing calls and notifications because of it.
I replaced with the revision 3 and couldn't be happier. The cutouts are exact and done very well - rounded off and shaped nicely.

I consider this case to be "barely there" yet it covers the entire perimeter of the phone. It adds enough of a lip on top to protect the screen when laying face down but does not consume much of the bezel. Actually, when it's laying on a table, it's hard to even tell there is a case on this phone. It's very thin!

That was also a concern of mine and I've found it to be a non issue. The soft, silicone cases are notorious for that but this is a whole different ball game. Buy with confidence, I'm about as picky as they come and this is the best case I've owned. The ONLY person I would say should not get this case is someone who's looking for extreme protection. Those peeps need an otter box or equivalent. But with a phone this size, may as well plan on a man purse to go along with it. This case is sleek as possible while still providing adequate protection for the vast majority of users IMO.

Just got mine today, REV 3 Glossy Black w/ volume cutouts.

Fits great, will receive my extended battery soon but I've heard it fits perfectly even with the extended. The only thing about this (and I know I'm picky) is that you can see dullness in the gloss around some of the cutouts - like if they rubbed the backing accidentally or something.

I just ordered the matte one because the glossy looks a little tacky, and is a fingerprint magnet.

Begin needless details--------------------------------------------------------------

As for the included screen protector:
BEWARE that stupid yellow "microfiber" cloth that comes with it. I peeled the backing of the screen protector off, wiped my phone down with the yellow cloth. Bad idea. The cloth somehow launched hundreds of tiny fibers at the screen protector that were almost impossible to get rid off.

In my frustration, I threw the screen protector in the trash. Well, an hour later - it's raining - and the ceiling vent is dripping - so I put the trash bin under it. Apparently the Screen Protector and a piece of tape I was using caught the side of the bin and the rain leak was washing the screen protector one drop at a time. I took it as a sign from the Android gods and decided to give it another go.

End needless details----------------------------------------------------

I used tape the completely cover the back of the screen protector. Peeled it off hoping all lint and fibers would be removed. Applied the screen protector (not so easy because after all this the screen protector was flying at the screen like a strong magnet and as soon as a little bit touched it would start sealing.

Finally the screen protector on right and realized that it leaves this strange color/rainbow effect that is very noticeable when viewed at an angle. Other than that it works and fits well. The very tip of the edges is not sealing but I'm assuming it is due to all the tape lifting I was doing to get the dust/fibers out. The edge thing isn't too noticeable when you put the case on.

I have the diz3 in smoke and I can't be happier. It's a great case that's relatively stiff. I also put on the free screen protector that came with the case and it does lift at the edges. Luckily the case somewhat seals the lifted edge from any debris getting in under the screen protector. It also has an oil slick rainbow effect like AFE mentioned when you look at it at an angle, but It's good temporarily until I get the xo screen protector I ordered.

Maybe I'll try again. I ordered the Rev 3 via Amazon a couple weeks back but received a case without the cutout for the volume keys. When I requested an exchange, Amazon said they could not guarantee I would receive the correct revision so I just returned the item.

Aside from the mix-up, I did like the case in general and that's coming from someone who had never used a case on a phone previously.

Try contacting the seller, they put up a notice that all orders made after January 6th would receive the volume rocker cutout version. Because of this, I am almost certain that if you exchange it you will get the right one. I doubt that they are sitting on stock of the old version so that they can exchange it with the same one.

I purchased mine through Amazon but it did not have the volume cut-out. I contacted Diztronic directly and they promptly sent me one with the cut-out. Great customer service. I did not bother going back to Amazon.
