Help How durable is the Razr?

So I bought the Razr, and though I bought a case for it, I find that I REALLY don't like the case when it actually on the phone. So while I try to find an affordable case (one without a screen protector, btw), how durable is this phone? Rate it from 1-3 on this scale:

1 - Not durable at all, you drop it and the screen or case WILL break
2 - Pretty durable, about a 50-50 chance it will survive a decent drop
3 - This phone only breaks if you drop it down stairs

Also, any recommendations of some good cases for shock absorptions? I am looking for something that is relatively form fitting and affordable, and it doesn't have to be fancy

I would say probably a 3 if it weren't for the screen....face it...its glass...it will break even if it hits right probably just from falling off of the couch...just the way it is with these bigger screens. I bought ,just the other day, the new seidio active case and am quite pleased with it. It feels good in my hand....has good protection on the corners....doesn't allow the screen to touch when lying face down... and I feel that with the silicone under it provides some type of shock protection. Its like 29 bucks or you get the combo and clip for 50. Just be careful. Just my 50 cents worth

Any good TPU case/skin should help with drops. I went with the Cruzerlite high Gloss Androidifed TPU case. Four of them actually. All the cutouts are exact, except the SD/SIM card slots which in my opinion I would rather have them covered seeing as I have yet to open that slot since I bought the phone. $9 and change from amazon. Got a blue, red, green, and clear one.
Few quick pics.

I suspect this phone is a 2; I havent' found proof to this effect but I believe the glass is very thin relative to earlier models and therefore is more prone to shatter if dropped. Lets face it glass is heavy and they probably minimized thickness and weight at the expense of durability.

I'm going caseless because I'll probably upgrade in 12 to 18 months and I'm going to enjoy the phone for what it is - if it dies before then I'll just bite the bullet and get something new (last year phones are not that expensive and next year phones are going to be wickedly better)

Anyways; some folks really like the traction a case add (I've still tempted to get one of hte very thin cases - similar to a tpu - but with a kickstand - but so far no need.

I'm being as careful as I can (not using during precip, not using while moving unless I get a call, etc), but the chances are that eventually SOMETHING is going to happen... I would like to not be SoL when that happens... I mean, it wouldn't be expensive for me to get a replacement (40 dollar deduct for 2 years on broken/lost/stolen phones), but the place where I bought it is 3 hours away from me (yay college), so actually getting the replacement would be the problem

Are those cases kind of tacky, or is the surface slick?

I hate the tacky ones when you try putting the phone in your pants pocket or when you try to pull it out it pulls the pocket lining out with it.

Otterbox is also very good and very durable.

For maximum protection otterbox probably can't be beat. However the sheer size of them kills it for me.
If I didn't have insurance and needed maximum protection I would go with the otterbox, but I have a TPU skin and am pretty careful with it, along with a replacement plan so I can take a few more chances with it. :)
