Root [ROM] - 2/5 - CleanROM 2.3 -=ICS Edition=- Clean and Smooth!

This looks like a pretty solid ICS version but my battery life is horrible. I am trying to reflash 1.5.5 and wait till ICS is really figured out but now I cant get it to flash right. If I try to use CleanFlash to reflash the boot.img that is in the zip folder I get ADb is not recognized internal or external as well as fastboot. I would like to go to 1.5.5 for the time being till more ICS support comes around.

I had the same problem. I found that you need to install recovery.img or boot.img(i forget which one) from 1.5.5 before you can flash 1.5.5 again.

OR

You can install Rezrom 1.5, it flashes easily, then flash to 1.5.5. That is the route I took and it worked just fine.

I saw in other threads 3.8 seemed to be the culprit as I do have that but some seemed fine. Figured it was something in the data reader for the battery though

It's more than likely in the kernel. Which is why nobody had a problem on GB. I'm sure once there's an official ICS release from HTC this will be fixed...

Yea, I believe this is a kernel issue. Who knows, maybe HTC cannot figure it out either hence no official ICS?

I think it may have to do with you the charging issue. I dont know for fact. It could also be the performance tweaks that I added. Hard to say at this point so I am collecting as much info as I can right now.

I got the boot.img to load through my cmd prompt and got 1.5.5 to install and boot past the HTC screen. However like all other roms I always need to constantly hit the volume up button to force it through and update. I could not get 1.5.5 to load and went back to ICS 2.2 and got that to load no problem after re-flashing the new boot.img. Just going to run with it for now I guess, I may try 1.5 later today instead of 1.5.5

Off topic but once a factory ICS version is rolled out will I be able to flash that and basically make my phone stock again according to Verizon, obviously still being rooted? I remember I use to always update my OG before the actual OTA updates were sent out and it was same as whatever stock ROM came OTA

Yes, there is a stock image now of the GB ROM that shipped on the Rezound. I'm sure there will be one after the ICS update. Verizon doesn't look at the phone anyway beyond whether or not it turns on. They're just not trained to, so don't worry about that part. If you mean for OTA purposes, why bother if you're going to root anyway? Just wait for a stock rooted ICS ROM.

Looks like OTAs might have a problem installing over customized phones. I am unlocked, rooted with Amon Ra recovery installed, no custom ROMs. .11 update downloaded last night but won't install. No errors, just won't install. Phone says it's still at level .6. Maybe it's waiting for "THE" opportune moment?

The only reason why I am interested in a stock ROM for the rezound is because I botched the original backup so have nothing to go back to. If I can somehow install the stock ROM again I would just so I can back it up properly and still have it as a go to if needed. Right now I have to use all tweaked ROM's which isn't bad but it would be nice to have a stock option as well just in case.

Is there a stock ROM + boot.img without any tweaks out there I can put back on to back up for now? All I see is versions that have been worked over.

No it wont install if you are running custom ROM.

Can you please upload the zip file?

This ROM is zippy fast! Is there a reason why several apps are no longer compatible with my Rezound now? I know they work on the Nexus, so it shouldn't be ICS. I can't get HBO Go, Max Go, or Flash Video Browser to download.

Then they would seem to not be compatible with ICS, lol.

It could be they are only released for the Gal Nex on ICS. There is "technically" no ICS for the Rezound so they probably haven't updated them.

You could always use another device then copy them over to this one.

Check the Amazon market or App Brain. You can get a lot of these applications from there and sideload them.

Scott - I don't know what zip file you want me to upload as I don't have a custom ROM installed, just the AR recovery.

I'm going to attempt this weekend to replace AR recovery with stock recovery and see if the update applies after that.

Thanks Scott for the roms Ive been loving them there is only one issue that I have been coming across that I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with. I was hoping the latest update would fix this but unfortunately it did not. I have bluetooth setup in my car where when I connect the phone to it the phone portion works fine but the media does not it says that it is connected but It will play music through my speaker on my phone. Now I am able to get it to work one I Restart my phone and connect it again but it will not connect to the media one I shut off my car and get back in. I have to restart my phone every time I get into my car if I want to play music through it. Just curious if anyone else was having this issue.

Over on XDA Scott has this posted
"Bluetooth Streaming Audio only works one time then you have to reboot the phone to get it to work again."
